"Wendy, I don't know how to explain this to you. By now, you've have obviously realized I have left...along with some of the kids. I'm sorry to have left this way. The kids are fine and so am I...hopefully one day I will be able to explain everything to you. All I can say right now is that I was needed somewhere else. And if you ever get the chance to meet them for whatever reason, tell Ni and Li that I love them and will see them again. Thank you for everything...and remember, always look for me somewhere over the rainbow. Love, Harmonie"
Wendy's green eyes met my tear filled ones. Quiet tears fell from Niall's eyes as he took hold of the old letter, hugging it to his chest.
"I was her Ni, she was my Mo..." Niall whispers, tears still falling down his face. His face showed so much hurt, so much pain. I never even considered the impact that Harmonie's leaving had had on Niall. I always thought about how much I hurt, how much pain I felt.
"Somewhere over the rainbow..." Wendy whispers to us, smiling slightly. Niall and I glance at each other, not totally understanding what the red haired girl was hinting at.
"Guys, have you never seen the Wizard of Oz?!" She exclaims, throwing her arms up into the air in exasperation. I was totally lost on what she was saying. Yes, I've seen the movie, but what does that have to do with anything? Then it hit me.
"She's in Kansas!" I yell out, jumping up to my feet. As I begin to do a little happy dance, Wendy giggles uncontrollably. Niall, realizing that we had just found his sister, or at least the next stop to finding her, grabs Wendy, picking we up and spinning her around the small kitchen. The two laugh together, happiness evident on all of our faces.
"She did always have a way with words..." I say quietly to myself, looking at the note that Niall had left on the floor.
Harmonie's curly cursive writing filled the white page, bringing back memories of little hand written letters left in my locker in school to cheer me up or little notes written in lipstick on the bathroom mirror just to remind me that she loved me.
She is the most amazing girl in the world. Her love for everyone around her is strong. She finds a way to bring light and happiness into people's life. The beautiful blonde haired girl changed my life forever. She is the one girl created for me. Harmonie is the reason that my heart continues to beat every single day. She accepts me for who I am and I do the same for her. Without her, I'm living with half a heart. And now that we have found a new clue as to where she is, I'm getting closer and closer to being whole again.
Folding the letter up, I slide it into my pajama pocket, keeping it with me. i can barely keep the excitement within me. I want to scream it to the world! We have found her! Well, sorta.
I begin leave the room, practically jumping with energy. Wanting to go tell the rest of the boys the good news, I dance out of the kitchen while Niall plants a big kiss right on Wendy's lips. The smile on my face grows wider as the realization that everything is falling into place dawns on me.
Walking through the tiny house known as Neverland, I dance down the halls, whooping and hollering. Something on the wall stops my happy dancing.
A hand drawn picture of a stick figure little girl with curly blonde hair and blue eyes holds hands with a taller version of her. In handwriting that I recognize as Harmonie's, the words 'Aunt Mo and Lily' are written on the paper next to the two stick figures. My heart swells up with love and adoration as I look at the picture. Harmonie had been close with the little girl that I had grown to love the first day I met her.
Grinning wildly, I make my way to the front door.
Once outside, I glance around me. Louis is tending to Lily and the little boy who's name apparently is Emerson while Zayn and Harry play pirates with Beau and Milo. Smiles are plastered on all of there faces. The atmosphere is completely different than it had been just yesterday. There was light, there was meaning, to the thing we call life. And I was loving every second of it.
I yell out, running around the frint yard. Picking up Lily from her seat next to Louis and Emerson on the ground, I spin her around, singing out random songs. Her giggles filled the air, along with the other children chasing after us.
"Boys, we are off to Kansas!" Niall's voice booms from the front door, Wendy now placed on his back. They run out, chasing the little boys around in the grass.
Zayn, Louis, and Harry join in, singing with me and Niall. It was like a huge celebratory party in the front yard of Neverland. This was only the first stop on the long journey ahead of us. We are leaving Neverland and heading to Emerald City. What lies ahead, we don't know. But we will find her. Harmonie will no longer be lost. She will be found.
