"Is he dead?" A small voice whispers.
"I don't know...he looks kinda funny." Another voice states, slightly deeper than the first one. "I think he's drooling..."
"Ew!" A high pitched voice squeals, pulling me completely out of my subconsciousness.
With my eyes widened, I glance around me, taking in the three young children kneeling around my once sleeping body. Two small boys sit side by side, looking almost identical except for they're different eye colors, one a light gray and the other's dark brown.
Hiding behind the brown eyed boy, the most adorable little girl I've ever seen stares at me with bright blue eyes and curly blonde hair going past her petite shoulders.
"Well, hello there..." I say with a smile, rubbing my tired eyes. I groan as I sit up, my body sore from sleeping on the hard porch. Both of the boys smile slightly at me. The little girl cowers behind the boys, hugging a small, tattered teddy bear to her chest with one hand.
"Hey, don't be scared..." I whisper to her, using my index finger to stroke her small hand placed on the brown eyed boy's arm. Slowly, she makes her way out from behind the boys, eyeing me hesitantly.
"Her name is Lily." The brown eyed boy whispers, having a somewhat deep voice. I guess he is older than he looks. "I'm Beau. This is Milo." He introduces himself and the grey eyed boy next to him, who I now realize is much younger than Beau.
"It's nice to meet you all..." I whisper, waving at the little girl named Lily. She giggles at me as I make a funny face. The two boys smile at me, "helping" me stand up on my feet. Beau and Milo run into the house, leaving me and the small girl alone on the porch.
I glance down at her, grinning as he reaches her small arms up to me, her one hand grasping onto her teddy bear. Bending down to pick her up, she giggles as I spin her around, making me laugh as well.
I pull her up to my chest, her blue eyes looking into mine. Her curly blonde hair shines in the sunlight that is now all around us. She smiles at me, only two small teeth filling her mouth. Lily nuzzles her head into the crook of my
neck. I hug her, walking into the house with a wide grin on my face.
"Who is this little beauty?" Louis asks me as I find my way into the small kitchen. All of the boys are there, except Niall. Harry is helping Wendy cook something on the stove. Zayn and the two boys I had just met are playing with little action figures on the kitchen table, while Louis is holding a little boy I haven't met yet. He looks around Lily's age, maybe a little older.
"This is Lily!" I explain to Lou, making her giggle as I tickle her side slightly. The boys all smile at her. Her grins her toothless grin back at them, shyly cover herself with her beloved teddy.
"She's taken a liking to you...it usually takes a while for her to get used to someone. She wouldn't go near me for a whole month when she first got here." Wendy explains to me, her eyes barely making contact with mine. Guilt wells up in me, images of what happened last night filling my mind.
The sound of someone entering the kitchen causes everyone to turn towards the doorway. A rugged, half asleep Niall trudges in, his normally bright blue eyes are bloodshot. His skin is flushed, clothing the same thing he wore yesterday, he looked like a wreck.
"Morning Niall!" Wendy stays with a dazzling smile. He barely glances at her, plopping down in a chair next to Zayn. He didn't say a word. You could practically see the tension in the room.
"Why don't we go outside and play?" Louis wonders, putting on a smile for the kids. Beau and Milo grab Zayns hand, practically dragging him out of the kitchen towards the front door.
Louis practically has to tear Lily out of my arms while balancing the little boy in his other arm. She kicks and whines frantically, reaching her small arms out to me. Harry follows them out, leaving Wendy, Niall, and I in the house alone.
None of us move of speak. Wendy and I make eye contact slightly before glancing at Niall who looks like he got absolutely no sleep. His eyes never leave his fidgeting hands on the table. The three of us sit there in silence, waiting for one of us to break it.
Unable to take the tense silence anymore, I speak up. "Niall..." I start.
"Don't Liam. Don't even try to apologize to me. Not now. Not ever." Niall states, bringing his gaze up to meet mine. He glares at me, sending goosebumps across my skin.
"Niall, it's not his fault..." Wendy whispers, placing a delicate hand on his shoulder. He shrugs it off, barely even acknowledging her.
"You don't know anything." He growls under his breath to her, making her step away from him slightly. Wen's eyes meet mine, fear showing in her green irises. I don't know what else to say or how to comfort her. She gazes at Niall's slumped form, his head now laying on his folded arms. His fists open and close as his breathing begins to deepen.
Wendy closes her eyes taking a deep breath. "That's not true..." She whispers. I give her a questioning look. Niall doesn't move. He just continues to clench and unclench his fists. Wendy's green eyes open, a look of determination on her face. The next words she says brings my world to a complete stop.
"I know where Harmonie is..."
