"Don't tell anyone that I've called you...ok? No one can know what's going on..." She whispers to me trough the phone, tears slipping from my eyes as my baby sister's voice fills my ears. I pace the hallway of the hospital, having exited Liam's room the second I realized who it was. I don't want to risk him hearing any of Harmonie and I's conversation.
"I know, Mo. I know...we will be on the next flight over." I explain into the phone, a small giggle coming from Harmonie. I smile through my tears, the sound of her happiness bringing back memories from when we were back home in Ireland.
"Don't sound so down, Ni! Everything will be ok now...I promise." Harmonie states, making kissy noises into the phone before hanging up. I chuckle deeply, wiping the tears from my eyes before reentering Liam's hospital room with a smile plastered onto my face.
"Who was that, Ni? Wendy?" Liam asks, waggling his eyebrows at the mention of my girlfriend's name. I blush almost instantly, knowing that he has heard some of the very love filled conversations between Wen and I over the phone.
"Yeah, that was her..." I lie, hoping that he won't see through it. I've always been such a terrible liar. Liam, shaking his head with a smile, doesn't seem to take any notice.
"We going to go see her anytime soon?" Li questions, zipping the grey hoodie that he's borrowing from me up his chest, his pajamas totally trashed underneath it.
"Tomorrow...first thing in the morning!" I say rather excitedly, knowing that I get to see my lovely Wendy and the little surprise awaiting Liam in Neverland making me giddy.
Liam chuckles, a happy glint in his eye. He glances across the room, making sure he's got everything I guess. The room's door opening pulls both mine and Liam's eyes to it.
A nurse walks in, a bright smile on her face. I immediately recognize her, she being the nurse that had been so kind to me while doctors worked on Liam's lifeless body. It's a strange experience, seeing her again, Liam no longer dead.
"Everything is ready to go, Mr. Payne! You just need to sign some papers..." She trails off, digging through a pile of papers on her clipboard. Liam chuckles as she drops some out of frustration. He bends down and help her pick them up, the two of them walking over to the hospital bed to talk about the papers.
A beep comes from my pocket, my hand grasping too my phone and pulling it out. I got a text from Louis.
From Lou: Just left Em's. I'll explain everything later. We are on the bus now, heading to the hospital. Call a cab.
Confused beyond belief, I reply a quick ok before calling a cab to be here in the next half hour. I've been keeping in touch with the boys since everything that has happened with Liam, but apparently some big thing happened at Emalee's while I wasn't there.
"Ok , we are all set!" Liam exclaims, pulling his RayBans down over his eyes. I nod politely towards the kind nurse before the two of us head down to the cafeteria to wait for the rest of the boys.
Tomorrow. The boys are coming tomorrow. Poor Niall...he has to keep this from the other boys. He's always been such a terrible liar.
I giggle at the memories that pop up in my head of my older brother, Niall. Only two years older than me, yet he can act like he's ten years younger than me.
We had always been close. Best friends all throughout our childhood, protective brother and sister throughout school, that's just how we have been since day one.
Sitting here on Wendy's bed, I can't help but let my thoughts wander from Niall to Liam. His brown eyes, so sweet and kind. His brown hair, so soft and perfect. His smile, the one thing in this world that I have always looked forward I seeing. His lips, molding perfectly with mine. His hands, holding mine, protecting me.
"Harmonie...you okay?" Wendy's sweet voice pulls me out of my thoughts and memories of Liam. I smile at her, trying to reassure her.
"I'm great! The guys are coming tomorrow!" I state, laughing wildly as Wen's facial expression turns from questioning to total shock and excitement. She quickly runs out of the room, telling the kids the good news.
As I chuckle on the bed, I don't even notice the small blonde girl that comes inside the room. She attempts to climb up next to me, her struggling causing me to drop my gaze down to her.
"Hey, baby girl...come here!" I say, pulling her up and into my lap, hugging her to my chest. After a while, she pushes her little hands on my chest, her wide blue eyes locking with mine.
"Daddy come?" She asks me, her words still fumbled from her lack of teeth. I stare at her, shocked at first. As far as Lily knows, she doesn't have a daddy. She just has Aunt Mo, she just has me. And Wendy, of course.
I cant help it when my heart swells as she whispers "daddy" though. I smile widely at her, tickling her sides slightly. Her giggles fill the room, her long curly blonde hair fanning across the bed.
One day, I'll have to explain everything to everyone. The real reason why I left. For now, I'll just be 'Aunt Mo' to Lily...
"Yes, baby...Daddy's coming..." I whisper, kissing her forehead lightly.
