"Just take us to the closest motel..." I finally say, the bus driver growing impatient as the five of us stand there in silence.
"Well come along then! I've got a schedule to keep up with!" The old man yells out to us, causing us to quickly shuffle our way onto the bus.
Me being the first of the five of is on the bus, I quickly call dibs on the seat in the very back. As I plop down on the old leather seat, Louis' loud and obnoxious voice fills the space.
"Oh no, you did NOT just sit in my seat!" He yells out to me, strutting his way to the back of the bus. I smirk cockily at the sassy boy from Doncaster, already planning my response.
"Sorry Lou, you just weren't quick enough! I think that Gucci bag that is so from last year slowed you down." I state, my grin growing as Louis' jaw drops. He glances down at his suitcase, self consciously placing it behind him.
"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The Sass Master just got out sassed!" Harry calls out, Zayn and Niall adding in "Ouch"s and "oh dang!"s. My smirk grows larger and larger the more the boys add in.
"This isn't over Payne..." Lou promises, blue eyes forming slits as he takes a seat towards the middle of the bus, a pout setting on his lips.
"Awe BooBear! It'll be ok! You still look fabulous!" Harry comforts a pouting Louis, putting his arm around the sassy boy's shoulders.
It wasn't until then that I noticed the giggling girl sitting in the seat in front of me. She has wavy, chocolate brown hair, ending a little bit above her shoulders. Her eyes met mine, hers the color of crystal, the lightest blue I've ever seen. Not a hint of makeup obscures the natural beauty of her her face, strong eyebrows framing her beautiful eyes.
"Y'all are some weird boys!" She states, giggles still escaping her mouth. "And for the record, I think that bag is gorgeous!" The girl exclaims, looking over at Louis' designer bag.
"Well thank you!" Louis replies, jumping up from his seat and clumsily making his way over to the stranger.
Plopping down next to her, he whispers towards me, "I like her already! Can we keep her?"
Obviously, Louis being his naturally loud self, his whispering is more like normal talking. So naturally, the girl heard him, her cheeks reddening slightly as a small giggle leaves her lips.
"What's your name, love?" Lou asks her, slipping his arm behind her shoulders, causing her face to turn bright red as she awkwardly twirls a section of her brown hair around and around her dainty fingers.
"Emalee, but everyone calls me Em..."she explains, a beautiful smile lighting up her face as she glances around at each one, her blue eyes resting on Louis' face the longest.he doesn't seem to notice it as he runs a hand through his messy brown hair, adjusting the glasses that are resting on the bridge of his nose.
"It's nice to meet you, Em! I'm Louis, this is Liam, Niall, Zayn, and that curly haired piece of sexiness over there, that is my Hazz! " Lou introduces us, all of us smiling at the sweet girl. She greeted each of us, genuinely smiling back.
"Where y'all headed?" Emalee asks, causing awkward gestures to be passed between the five of us boys.
"We aren't exactly sure yet...we were just going to stay at a motel until we figured it all out." I explain to her, awkwardly scratching the back of my head. It really did sound ridiculous. We come all this way, obviously from our of town, and have absolutely no idea where we are going.
"A motel? Oh no, y'all are coming with me!" Em proclaims, yelling up to the bus driver to stop on Emerald Street. I bust out laughing, thinking about how coincidental this all is.
Harmonie telling Wendy to look for her "Somewhere over the rainbow", we are in Kansas, meet a girl named Em, AND we are going to Emerald Street. It's all just too much for me to handle. How could this all possibly be happening?
The boys and Em look at me like I've completely lost my mind. Maybe I have. Who knows? It's been a long year without Harmonie, and we aren't even that close to finding her yet.
Ten minutes later, the bus screeches to an abrupt stop, the driver practically yelling at us to get off his bus. The six of us pile out, our feet meeting a dirt road that looked to go on for miles.
"My house is just a little ways down the road from here. I'm sure Mama won't mind y'all coming." Emalee explains, pointing her index finger towards the direction of her home. We grabs our bags, having nowhere else to go, and follow the blue eyed girl down the red dirt road.
