Falling Friendship

Alice Arbler and Santana Swent have been BFFs for nine years! When 6th grade comes they expect it to be the same: them being BFFs. But sudden changes in the summer tell them nothing is going to be the same. Alice and Santana must find pathways that don't connect. But each time they think they did, everything crashes and they have to start over again. Everyone they like seems to like everyone the other girl likes. "G'night girls. Don't let the bed bugs bite." Elizabeth says as she turns out the lights and goes to the Counsler Cabin.

"Ok, everyone get up!" Megan said when the cost was (aparently) clear.

"I have the eggs, I snuck them from the kitchen when I had dish duty." Sarah Ida raises her hands.

"Perfect. Everyone, get into your darkest clothes. Are we ready to go egg the Counsler Cabin." Megan gets up and runs to her trunk.

"Megan, I'm not going. I can't risk my neck like that. It's not the right thing to do." I announce, feeling brave once again.

"You're too late. I've spent days planning this with the Lake Lassoers. Everyone is going to do it. Everyone period! And yes, I've made sure that Santana would be coming too." I was shocked by this.

"Santana wouldn't do that if the world depended on it." I say keeping my point.

"That would be awfuly vain of her. Don't you think? She said that she would give a leg and an arm to go. BUT ONLY, if you came to. She misses you. Come on. You don't want to give up on her. Do you?" Megan says in an evil tone.

"First of all-"

"Ok, Sarah Ida, grab the eggs. We're already behind schedule." And they ran out of the bunk. "Maybe Santana and I could make up and do the right thing: Go to the head bunk and tatle on Megan and her evil little minions! Maybe Santana and I were over-reacting! Maybe she'll understand, maybe I could clear up the bad feelings." I think and run out after them.

"I see you've finally found your place in this camp. Although you still don't really belong here." Megan whispers and then turns away. I run and find Santana.

"Santana. I'm so sorry, I was over-reacting, everything's gonna be a disaster because of stupid ol' me if we don't do anything. RIGHT NOW! We'll end up with guilt- and dish duty- for the rest of camp. We'll be betraying our vow to have fun and be honest and to do the right thing if possible, the vow that still holds out friendship together, at this moment!" I say as quick as I can. The other girls are just starting to make plans.

"I can feel you're right and except your sincere apologies. Now, let's go and do the right thing." we hug and tiptoe quietly to the head bunk.
