Things have gone back to normal in general. My bruises have gone away although, I still haven't told them what really happened that night, but thankfully no one ever asked again. I've grown closer to all of them including Harry, who is home much more than before, but I still don't feel the same around him as I do with the others.
I actually started hanging out with girls ever since Louis started dating his girlfriend Eleanor. Honestly, she's the sweetest thing on earth, and she introduced me to some of her friends who are just like her. Louis' been spending more time with her so I've found myself hanging out with the others a lot.
This morning I woke up and went down for breakfast. Niall and Liam were fighting about some movie at the table while Harry sat there on his phone. Zayn was at the stove cooking some eggs.
"Morning Am, how'd you sleep?" he asked.
"Great actually, where's Lou?" I replied.
"Eleanor slept over last night."
"Ah... that explains it."
Niall and Liam laughed at that comment.
"So whatcha guys doing today?" I asked
"Actually Harry got us some tickets to the amusement park about two hours from here and we were wondering if you wanted to come." Liam replied
"Sure, I'd love to."
"Okay we're leaving as soon as Louis is ready, Eleanor isn't able come so your just stuck with the guys today." Niall said
"Oh joy..." I said sarcastically.
"Oh come on, we aren't that bad!" replied Zayn.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night."
All the boys including Harry laughed.
"Go and get dressed Miss Sassafras. No wonder you're related to Louis." Zayn said.
I headed upstairs and threw on some black leggings with a big white sweatshirt with red writing, I then slipped on my red Toms I had stolen from Louis, who knew that boy had girl sized feet.
When I had gotten back downstairs Zayn had finished making the eggs and was placing the plates on the table. I sat down next to Niall and dug right in.
"Well someone must be hungry," said Zayn.
"I'm starving," I said with a full mouth, "and these eggs are amazing Zayn."
"They're amaZAYN" punned Niall
At that I laughed, and the eggs almost fell out of my mouth.
"I heard Louis would be ready in about an hour so just be ready by then." Harry said to all of us as he walked out of the room.
"Ok." They all replied simultaneously.
"I'm gonna go watch some TV in my room." I said as I headed upstairs.
After about an hour I heard a light knock on my door and Louis walked in.
"Hey, you ready to go?"
"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute."
I grabbed my phone and I headed back downstairs. I went outside where I found the car already started. I hopped in and got put in between Niall and Harry. Louis was driving and Liam sat up front. Zayn was going to drive separately and meet us there.
It was a long drive to get to the amusement park. Harry had his head in his phone and Niall had fallen asleep. Louis and Liam were having some deep conversation up front that I couldn't understand, much less wanted to be a part of. So I was bored.
"Have you ever been to an amusement park?" I looked up to find Harry staring at me, obviously asking me the question.
"No, actually I haven't but I've always wanted to." I replied.
"Oh, well I think you'll really enjoy it, this is the best one I've ever been to." he said.
The conversation ended and I went back to being bored. After the long two hours we finally arrived. Zayn met up with us in the parking lot. We went in the entrance and we each received a wristband telling people we could ride the rides
"You like roller coasters Amber?" Liam asked.
"Honestly I don't know I've never been on one."
"Really? Oh well they are awesome! We'll take you on all of them!"
"Ok." I said laughing yet a little unsure.
As we walked through the park, I noticed it was quite empty.
"Where is everyone?" I asked.
"It must not be a popular day to come." Zayn replied.
Harry had said it was the best amusement park he had ever been to, so why aren't there more people here? I just shrugged it off thinking maybe Zayn was right.
We came up to the biggest coaster in the park, each boy had a wide smile on his face as we advanced towards the entrance.
"Are we really going on the biggest one first?" I asked a little nervous.
"Yeah, trust me you'll love it!" Niall replied.
I followed them all into the lanes where there would usually be a line of people, but instead it was empty so we walked right up to the coaster cars.
"Niall you're riding with me!" Louis yelled. Zayn and Liam hopped into the car in front of them.
There were two more seats in the back of the train. "Ladies first." Harry said.
I took a seat in the car and Harry plopped down next to me. I guess I was a little fidgety because Harry just said with a smile,
"It's okay to be a little nervous."
I nodded. The bar came down across our laps and a worker gave the thumbs up. The car started moving down the track into a tunnel. I waited for the light to start shining again but we were still in complete darkness.
"When does the tunnel end?" I asked.
"Oh didn't we tell you? This coaster is completely in the dark." Louis said
"Yeah, I think you forgot to mention that!" I replied.
"Oops..." he said.
As soon as he said that the car jerked forward as we went up a steep hill. I began to feel butterflies in my stomach as I clenched the bar in front of me. Before I knew it the car tilted forward and we were catapulting down a steep hill, into loops and turns, going upside-down and spinning in circles. the whole entire time I couldn't help but scream my head off. Finally we slowed down and came out of the darkness. The light was blinding and when I looked down I noticed I was grasping Harry's hand. I felt my cheeks start to heat up as I quickly took my hand from his.
"Sorry about that." I said
"Oh its fine, scary isn't it?"
"Yeah," I replied, still slightly embarrassed.
We got off the ride and the first thing I heard was Louis cry, "Wasn't that amazing?!"
"You could say that." I replied laughing
The rest of the day consisted of wild coasters, cotton candy, and lots of pictures.
The guys seemed so close, and I thought that was great. I still felt a little out of place though, like they would be enjoying themselves more if I wasn't there. By the end of the day I was completely exhausted and I guess I showed that because Niall offered to give me a piggyback ride back to the car, I quickly refused, a little embarrassed though I didn't know why, and said I was fine. I regretted that seconds later because every step to the car felt like years. Finally, I was back between Harry and Niall for the two hour car ride home. I must've been really tired because I slept for the entire drive only to be woken up by Harry, who's shoulder I was leaning on.
I quickly jerked up and apologized, but he just smiled and said it was fine. I then began to walk towards the house, but my feet felt heavy and my vision was going blurry. All I remember is two strong arms carrying me upstairs to my room.
The next morning I went down for breakfast, expecting to be met by five roudy boys, since it was nearly noon, but instead I found a note from Louis saying that they were going to be gone for the day, apologizing for the late notice, and they would be back in the morning. I went into the kitchen and got myself a bowl of cereal.
"A little late for breakfast, isn't it?" a voice behind me asked. I whipped around to find Harry staring back at me.
"I thought you all were gone for the day," I said confused.
"Oh, Louis didn't tell you? I wasn't feeling well so I offered to stay home with you."
"Oh, ok." I replied.
"Well I was going to go pick up lunch, but seeing as you are eating breakfast, I wasn't sure if you wanted anything." he said
"I'm good thanks."
"Ok, be back soon."
In Harry's world, soon must mean 2 hours because it was almost three in the afternoon when he got back.
"Sorry, I was mobbed by fans." he said
I laughed confused, not really understanding his joke. He noticed my confusion and a shocked look came over his face.
"Oh... I was just kidding. Um, long line, and... I saw a friend." he stammered.
"Oh it's fine, no need to explain," I replied, still a little confused, but I just shrugged it off.
He sat down on the couch next to me, and began to eat his sandwich, which at first was awkward, but then I thought, I'm comfortable around the other guys, why not him?
"What's on?" he asked, referring to the TV
"Reruns of Once Upon a Time." I replied.
"You've never heard of it?" I asked, shocked.
"No, can't say I have. Is it good?"
"Yeah, actually it's one of my favorite shows, this is Season 2, but Season 3 premieres next week."
"Oh, that's cool." he replied. Obviously, not interested. He finished his lunch and got up without me noticing, by the time the episode was over, he had returned.
"You wanna watch a movie?" he asked.
"Sure, which one?"
"How about the Notebook." he replied.
I was surprised, I wouldn't think that Harry was a sucker for chic flicks.
He popped it in and said he'd back right back, returning to the room with a bowl of popcorn.
"Sure, thanks." I said plopping some kernels in my mouth.
The movie had ended, and the tears were streaming down my face. I am very sensitive when it comes to sad movies, especially this one. And I probably should've considered that before allowing myself to watch it.
Harry turned to me and noticed that I was crying.
"Are you okay?" he asked anxiously.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just a sad movie." I replied, sniffing.
"Oh, sorry, I should've thought of that before making you watch it."
"It's fine. I decided to, my fault." I said laughing a little.
The next thing that happened was very surprising. He pulled me in for a hug and slowly rubbed my back. I wasn't sure what to do and I think he noticed I was uncomfortable, because he pulled away and gave me a quick smile before getting off the couch. He checked the clock near the mantel.
"It's nearly ten, time flies." he said. "I'm gonna go to bed, so you need anything before?"
"No, I'm good thanks." I replied.
"Ok, good night, see you in the morning."
After he went upstairs, I turned all the lights off downstairs and went up to my room. After listening to music on my phone and reading some of a book I had found on my bookshelf called "The Fault in Our Stars", I turned off the lights in my room and laid down, pulling the covers up to my chin.
I slowly started to drift into what I thought was going to be a peaceful sleep. I was about to be terribly wrong.
