"Collin?" I said surprised, i wasn't expecting it to be him.
"Who were you expecting?" He asked confused, then realization crossed his face, "you thought i was Kyle." He said disappointed.
"Yeah i did, but I'm glad its not, i didn't know how i was going to let him down easy." I said.
"So you don't like him?" Collin asked.
"No, i just don't feel that way about him."i said being honest.
Collin smiled clearly liking my answer.
God he was adorable.
"So this really is all for me, what for?" I asked while sitting on the blanket as he did the same.
Had Jake been right?
"Can't two friends just have a picnic?" He said.
"So why didn't you invite Jake or Kyle?" I said smirking.
"Your not going to give up are you?" He asked smiling.
"No I'm not." I said.
"Fine, i wanted to spend time with just you." He said blushing.
"Why is that?" I asked.
He shook his head at me.
"Because i think your something special, and i really enjoyed our little talk yesterday." He said.
That shut me up.
He must have noticed because he started to laugh.
"I should have just started with that." He said.
"Yeah...hey i just remembered something, aren't you supposed to be sick?" I asked remembering the text Jake read out.
"I said that so i could plan this and i got Jake to stall for a while." He said.
It all made sense...
Jake running in the house wanting to watch a movie, not forcing me to stay when i decided to leave.
They were sneaky.
"So, whats in the basket?" I asked curious.
"Cold grilled cheese sandwiches." Collin said taking them out.
"Yum my favourite!" I said laughing.
We ate our sandwiches in silence, but not the awkward kind, it was a nice silence.
A bunch of people started coming and laying blankets on the ground like ours.
"Whats going on?" I asked.
"You'll see." He said as he scooted beside me, so that we were both facing the same way as everyone else.
Suddenly there was a loud 'boom' and I jumped burring my face into Collins shirt.
I could feel his chest moving up an down as he laughed.
"Look." He whispered as i brought my head back up.
There were an array of colours in the sky.
They were fireworks...
"Its beautiful." I said.
"Juuestliikeyoue." Collin mumbled but i couldn't quite understand what he was saying.
"What?" I said looking at him.
He started to shake his head and say it was nothing when he blurted out, "i said 'just like you.'"
It took me a few seconds to process what he was saying and i blushed.
"Thanks." I said looking at my shoes.
The wind stared to pick up and i shivered i didn't bring a coat because i thought i was going to just tell Kyle that i wasn't interested and go back home.
Collin must have noticed because he took off his jacket and put it on my shoulders leaving his arm around them as he did.
"Thanks." I said looking up at him.
"Anything for you." He said as he leaned his head towards me.
But he stopped about an inch away form my lips...
