I rolled my suitcase down the hall 277... 280... 283! I approached the door of my new dorm, and pulled out my student assigned key. As I walked into the average sized room I notice one double bed pressed against the window and the wall, and a bunk bed on the wall connected to the hallway. I immediately jump over the jutting frame of the double bed and land bouncing slightly on the springs. I slide under the covers and create a cocoon of sheets around me. Following my head hitting the pillow, my mind drifted into a deep sleep.
I walked down the hallway passing each dorm noticing no gender differences. I wondered if the roommates were coed, but I knew that was a stupid thought. I reached my door and I noticed the door was already slightly opened. I cautiously open the door and notice a boy with sandy blonde hair that was quiffed about half an inch high. My eyes instinctively move to his shirt. It was black with a yellow smiley face with two x's for eyes. Above read "Nirvana" in bright yellow letters. Without even asking his name I start up a conversation, "What's your favorite song by them?" At first he looked confused, but when I gestured to his shirt his face lighted up.
"Smells Like Teenage Spirit," he replies, and I laugh a little.
"Basic," I say with my head turned to the right and my hand cupped at the side of my mouth.
I woke up to find two other people in my dorm having a heated argument. One had a quiff of sandy blonde hair and deep green eyes, while the other was facing the other way. He had dark brown hair in an old Bieber hair style. Wait.. He?! I slowly got up from my cozy spot on the double bed, and the two turned to face me. I noticed that the boy I couldn't see earlier was Hayes, and my heart skipped a beat, but I showed no emotion. The other boy had a small smirk on his face, and I felt my body tense up. I was the first to break the silence, "Uh, I think I'm going to go check with the principal and see what happened with the room assignments."
"Nah, the dorms are coed," The blonde replied, "I'm Holden by the way," he held out his hand and I took it,
"And I'm bored." Hayes interrupted. We both rolled our eyes and I walked back over to my bed and started unpacking my clothes into the empty dresser provided in the room, "There's literally no room left," Hayes said with a look of shock on his face.
"I'm a girl, what do you expect?" I laughed.
I tried to keep myself looking in Julia's direction because I knew I would end up staring. She was so naturally beautiful. Of course I've seen girls who were prettier, but in that fake kind of way. She looked natural, young, real. I walked over to my suitcase and unpacked them into the small closet. I saw her out of the corner of my eye observing my features and I felt a smiling tugging at the corner of my lips, but I controlled it, "Do you guys wanna go somewhere?" I heard a feminine voice ask from the corner of the room.
"I'm up for it," I saw the boy from earlier reply with a grin. I felt like I knew him from somewhere, but I put it to the back of my mind.
"Eh, I guess," my gaze fell to Julia and I felt like my comment came across more snobby than laid back.
