7. Chapter 7
Bradley woke up the next morning in his cot. He noticed a whole gang of mice nibbling on his shirt. He shooed away the mice and stood up disgusted at the rodents. He brushed his teeth and went to Xzavier's office. There he saw his dad at his desk in deep thought. "Hey dad, what's wrong?" Said Bradley taking a seat across his desk. He saw only a peek of his office the night before. But here, he really got to see the detail of his office. His desk had a gold outline, the main part made of dark brown polished wood.
The metal behind Xzavier was interesting. It was the head of a growling wolf with two crossed sniper rifles behind the wolf. There was a red ribbon under the head with seven golden stars laid across it, the seventh star being the biggest and shiniest. Bradley saw his dad staring at a picture frame on the wall. Bradley looked at the picture and saw a younger looking Xzavier, an Xzavier with pitch black hair partially slicked back. He was wearing the same looking suit Mr. T had. A long black suit with a white cape attached to one shoulder covering his left arm. Behind him was the same metal Bradley just saw behind Xzavier but only with one less star. Next to him was a woman who looked as young as Xzavier did, if not younger. She had chocolate brown hair cut down to her shoulders. She was wearing a cloud white suit with a green cape attached to both shoulders that hung down to her ankles. Behind her was the same metal Xzavier currently had. Bradley looked back at the young Xzavier and saw he didn't have the scar that cut straight down his left eye like the Xzavier now did, "You're probably wondering who that woman is in the picture right?" Said Xzavier, "Yeah, I am. Who is she dad?" Bradley responded.
"That's your mother, this is the only and last picture of her." He said, "Bradley why are you here?" He asked. Bradley thought for a second. Why was he there? Bradley looked at his father, "I'm here for more mental training." He said.
Xzavier stood up, "No, you're not. I'm moving you to physical training. You need to be prepared, you need training in physical combat. When that day comes, which I know is soon. Mental combat isn't going to save you." he said. Bradley's eyes popped, "Dad, are you sure you have that power?" He said with confusion. Xzavier sighed, "Bradley, I'm the elite. If I have good reason, I can do whatever I wish."
He said looking at Bradley, "You start tomorrow, for now. Take this." Xzavier went into his desk and pulled out a suit. The same suit Xzavier wore in the picture on the wall. "Dad, I can't take this, I have to earn it, don't I?" Bradley said pushing away the suit.
"Bradley, remember. If I have good reason, I can do anything. Besides, you HAVE earned it. It may seem like you've only been here a day but in that one day you've showed me that you have great potential. If you ask me, you're a scavenger." Said Xzavier putting the suit on his desk. "Take the suit, that's a direct order Bradley."
