13. Bonding Part 2
"We should probably pull my hair back. Do you have a hair band?" I asked. She nodded. "Great! Let's use that then." I smiled at her and she giggled and shook her head. "What is it?" I asked curiously.
"You're constantly smiling." She said.
"Should I stop?"
"No. It's.. Refreshing." She replied and looked at me.
"Okay. Under one condition though."
"Really? What would that be?"
"You have to be smiling as well." Maybe it was cheesy, but there was no other way to say it anyway. I just wanted to see her smile. As it was for her it was for me too, refreshing. Seeing her smiling genuinely was so refreshing. She smiled and looked at the bottle, unscrewing the lid.
"Okay, whatever you say Mr. Harry Smiles." She said. This got me good. She made a joke, a good one and I began to laugh, hard. I laughed and laughed until there were tears in my eyes and I came to a stop wiping the tears away.
"That was so good. Oh my god. You're funny." I said.
"Thank you." She replied. "Now, stay still." She said. She picked up the hair band and pushed my hair back with it, keeping it away from my face. "Sit up." And I did. She squeezed a bit of the product onto her left fingers. With her free hand she placed two fingers under my chin and gently pulled my face up so I was looking up at her. She looked so pretty. Even with the face mask on. As she began to apply the face mask on my face a strong urge hit me, I wanted to hug her. Not kiss her, or take her too bed just to hug her. It was so weird. I'd never actually felt this way before. I lifted my arm and then put it back down. There was no way I could do that and ruin now. I shook the feeling off. "Stay still." She said, I couldn't help but smile. "Okay, finished." She looked at me and laughed.
"What is it?" I asked curiously and stood up looking into the mirror from behind her. It looked fine.
"Nothing. Let me wash my hands and I'll keep making our snacks." She said. After she washed her hands we walked back to the kitchen and she began cutting the fruits. "Harry." She started. "Can I ask you something?"
"Why are you here?" She asked. "Not that I'm telling you to leave, don't get me wrong. It's just, I'm sure you have better things to do on a Wednesday night."
"I like being with you. It's fun. You're funny and so easy going. I just like being around you." I said mostly to myself. I really did like being here with her it was fun. "And since I invaded your personal day, I'll do whatever you were going to do!" I announced.
"Well.." She said.
"Tell me the plans for tonight so I can brace myself." I joked.
"I was going to eat these fruits while I watched The Breakfast Club, then when it was time to wash these masks off I was to do that then continue my movie and other stuff." She said.
"I love The Breakfast Club." I replied, surprised by her choice of movie.
"Me too." She turned around with two plates filled with different fruits. I moved and grabbed both the plates. "Thank you."
"Okay come around." She said and I followed her into the spacious living room. On the floor was bean bags and fluffy pillows.
"You really were going to go hard out tonight." I said amazed. She laughed and opened the TV and pressed play on the movie. We both sat on the pretty big bean bag and were slightly leaning into each other as we ate our fruits and enjoying the movie. We were almost finished the movie and our masks were washed off and our plates were put away. We were on the bean bag again but this time we were more comfortable with each other.
"Here." I said quietly and put my arm over her shoulders and pulled her in so she was more comfortable. She eventually rested her head on my shoulder and I rested my head on her head. The movie came to an end and the credits began to roll. She seemed to hold onto my shirt slightly when it went all dark. "Scared of the dark?" I asked in a joking matter, although I actually wanted to know.
"Maybe." She replied. After the credits finished it went back to the menu page and the room had light in it. She stood up and when she did I felt so empty all of a sudden. I couldn't really describe it but it was like I felt slightly alone. I wanted her to sit back down. She opened the light and switched the TV off and stood back in front of me. "Facial number two." She smiled down at me.
"Great! Seriously, I was feeling all the break outs coming along but I feel better now." She held out her hand for me too take and I did. She pulled me up and we walked back to the kitchen and she sliced 4 cucumber slices and grabbed the honey.
"Come on." She smiled and skipped back to the living room. She sat down on the floor and I followed. "Lay down." And I did.
"Please don't kill me." I joked. She laughed and once I was down she placed down the bowl with the cucumber slices and small bottle of honey down. She pulled a strand of hair away from my face. I was looking up into her eyes and she looked down at me and smiled. I was kind of mesmerised. She was so beautiful. In every angle and in every light.
"What is it?" She asked softly. I smiled at her.
"Nothing. You're just, so beautiful." I replied quietly. I lifted my hand and pushed a stray hair behind her ear.
"You're funny." She laughed. "Okay, now put your arms by your side, head up and stay still." I did what she wanted of me, but she didn't believe that I thought she was beautiful. "Close your eyes." She began to massage the honey onto my face and put a cucumber slice on either of my eyes. "Good."
I didn't know what she was doing now but I'm assuming she was applying it on her face. She then lay down beside me and had our shoulders touching.
"If you don't mind me asking, Clara, how old are you?" I was curious about so many things. Things she made seem like it was impossible to know unless you asked.
"I've just turned 19." She replied. I was 20 now and she was only 19 and living with her friend.
"How come you live with Isabelle out on your own? I'm sure your parents miss you. I would." I said. I felt her inhale deeply.
"I doubt it." She almost whispered. "Enough about me. H-" I wasn't going to let her change the subject.
"Fine. How come you work almost everyday? I mean, you're still so very young, why don't you go out and enjoy life?" I asked.
"Because, some people don't have the luxury of enjoying themselves when all they have is themselves to depend on for a living." She replied. I think I offended her. I took off the cucumber and propped my self up on my elbow and looked down at her.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you." I said quickly. She sighed and pulled off the cucumber slices as well.
"No, it's okay. I'm sorry. It's just, I'd rather not talk about my life. It's boring." She said. "Tell me about the places you've been." She sat up and crossed her legs. She looked so interested into what I was going to say.
"Well, there's this amazing little bakery by the Eiffel Tower and they have the most amazing things!" I began as I sat up as well. "I promise you they are so amazing! Their sandwiches and cupcakes and hot chocolates, they're great! They're my favourite."
"They sound good!" She replied happily.
"Maybe you can try them some day?" I said. She looked between her legs and sort of chuckled.
"Maybe." She looked back up at me.
"I could take you, you know?" I replied with a smile. She laughed.
"We could! We could go tomorrow if you wanted too!" I said hopeful.
"And leave work? I couldn't." She replied.
"I'm determined to show it too you one day." I said and she smiled.
"Well, thank you anyway."
