Lessons To Learn

Kaitlin Cainwood (19) has lived a hard life. Her parents were killed at the age of 15 and was forced to take over her family's business. She presides as CEO of Cainwood Enterprise and a Ivy League Academy. Every four years, she picks 30 students to participate in a world tour.
Kaitlin is always up to a challenge. But this challenge seems to be the worst she's taken up.
When she has already paid for the Tour, her agent makes a horrible mistake. She accidentally combines the same Tour as One Direction. With nothing else to do. Kaitlin is forced to perform with the Band. Can Kaitlin keep her frustration under control? While staying a whole 8 months on a tour bus with hyper-active boys? Or will she hit the high notes and forget the tour?

3. The Office

Kelsey's POV

I couldn't believe it. Miss Cainwood invited me to go on her tour. Do you even know how hard it is to be chosen to go on these tours? Harder than trying to get in Harvard Law School! I asked Miss Cainwood earlier on why she decided to invite me on her tour. She responded saying that it's a gift for saving her life from hobbit man Walters. Perhaps I should knock people out more often! I could become her bodyguard! .... Wait.... Don't bodyguards make less money though? Oh well! It would cool to be one!

We were sitting in the agency lobby waiting to be called to Miss Leslie's office. All that was left was a signature agreeing to the tour. Then we could head home and start packing bags, ready to leave 3 days from now!

"What is taking them so long? We've waited here for an hour now. Leslie never takes this long!" When it came to waiting, Miss Cainwood was as impatient as a snake being held back from eating. She had a time schedule to follow. I should know! I keep her updated every hour of her day! From Dusk till Dawn.

If I had to describe Miss Cainwood. She would be known as hardworking, responsible, trustworthy, and a great boss! Sure she seemed scary at times. Once you got to know her, you realize that deep down, she loves what she does and she loves helping the less fortunate. Miss Cainwood, tapped her foot impatiently and growled. Although, patience was not her strong suit. "Leslie, I'm going to kill you if I have to wait here for another minute." If looks could kill, Miss Cainwood had the expression down perfectly.

"Well, Miss Cainwood, it's like my parents always told me! Patience is a Virtue!" I smiled. "I don't have the time to wait, Kelsey. You know I have 3 appointments that I cannot afford to miss. And rescheduling is not an option." She crossed her legs and swore under her breath. I sighed and shook my head. Then a brilliant idea came in my head. Putting on a smile I decided to take her mind off the subject. Oh! And I knew a great story she would enjoy! The story of my lost hamster!

"Miss Cainwood, would you like to hear a story? It's a wonderful story about my-" I was soon interrupted by the secretary standing in front of us. "Miss Cainwood? If you'd like, you may go and see Leslie. She shouldn't be taking this long to discuss with her client." Miss Cainwood sighed in relief. She stood up and thanked the secretary and began walking to Leslie's office. So much for my hamster story. I guess I'll save it for another time.

"Miss Cainwood? Are you excited?" I look at her to see if I can connect with her eyes. She looked at me and smiled. Her eyes shown with excitement. "Yes, I really am. I'm glad that things have worked out this far. I have to admit, I'm impressed that Leslie made it this far without messing anything up." She had the biggest smile if ever seen. I had worked for Miss Cainwood for a while. But this was the first time I'd ever seen her smile. It was a bit of a shock, but it really suited her. She should've smiled more often, it looked good on her. We turned the corner and stopped. The door to Leslie's office was shut, but the grin didn't leave her face. "Well, Kelsey, this is it. We're just a few steps from signing a contract. And we'll be traveling around the world." I was excited, butterflies flew around in my stomach. My knees started to grow weak. I couldn't believe this was happening! I got the chance to travel around the world! Something that I had always wanted to do before I died! Miss Cainwood reached for the handle about to open the door, when a booming voice came from the room.

Miss Cainwood's hand came to a stop and the smile washed off her face. My eyes widened in shock, both of us refused to speak. My mouth gapped open and Miss Cainwood glanced at me. I must've heard wrong. I still must have water in my ears from the shower this morning.

A look of anger was in her eyes. "Miss Cainwood?" I ask reaching a hand out to her. She started to casually laugh.

"Hah, Kelsey, I must be hearing things. I thought I just heard someone speak about accidentally combining tours." She continued to laugh. My gut clenched and I cleared my throat. I tried my best to resist the urge to run. But my legs wouldn't move. As if my feet were somehow glued to the floor.

"Miss Cainwood?"

"How in bloody hell, did you accidentally combine tours?! Not to menetion! Whose tour did you accidentally combine us with!" The voice boomed. My hands started to shake. I started wishing inside my mind that it wasn't our tour.

"I combined the tour with Miss Kaitlin Cainwood." I knew whose voice it belonged to. It was Leslie's. The office went silent. If a pin were to be dropped, you would've heard it. Miss Cainwood broke her gaze and clenched her hands into fists, after a minute had passed, Miss Cainwood made eye contact with me. I was scared out of my wits end, I saw a look I had never seen before. This look was the devil itself. Before I could think of what to do Kaitlin slammed the door open.

Without a moment to spare, I sprinted out of the office as fast as I could. Leaving Miss Cainwood to deal with Leslie. At that moment, I knew all Hell was going to break loose.
