9. Running or Staying
I woke up. My head was reeling and I groaned as I opened my eyes. Zayn was standing over me, keeping the others back. "Zayn, enough!" said the boy I was assuming was named Harry. I changed into a dragon and growled, long and low and menacing. "Back away! Now!" I said throughout their minds. Their faces held a shocked expression for a moment, then went back to normal hatred. Zayn stayed where he was until I flared my wings, backing him up. I stared at them with my big black dragon eyes, gazing at Zayn with pain and regret. "You have what you need... What more do you want from me?" Zayn looked up and stepped forward. "Lu, I don't know what happened to you, but I'm here for you, if only you'll let me in." He held out his hand and I changed back into myself. "Me? Or my powers?" I asked, my eyes glowing a dark blue. "You." He said, his voice calming and smooth. "Why? Why would you want me after all that I have done?! My crimes aren't gone just because I let him go and you want them to be!" I screamed, not thinking of the consequences. He looked at me with bewildered eyes. "I didn't say that out loud... how did you know what I was thinking?" I looked away, starting to walk away when Zayn grabbed my arm. "Lu, I want an answer..." I turned to face him, as if the others didn't even exist. "I can read minds, Zayn. I can teleport, heal, shape-shift..." He let go of my arm, satisfied with my answer, and I took off, running for an exit, but they gave chase. "Lu!! Lusetta, come back!!" Zayn called after me. Moments later, they were in front of me, forcing me to run the opposite way. I changed into a Cheetah and kept going, hoping that they wouldn't catch me. There were so many of them. I turned one way and then another, trying to confuse them, but I ran into a corner and, before I could turn around, they were blocking the exit. I growled and let out a roar, making them flinch, but nothing more. "Lusetta, give it up! We've got you!" I changed into my demonic form and laughed, evil and dark. "My dears... I'm still running!" I spread my wings and took off, Iron Girl on my tail. "Lusetta! You've got an explanation that you owe me!" She called. "You? I owe you nothing!" I yelled, accidentally letting my fear come out in my voice. "You ever gonna give?" She asked. "Nope, I can keep this up forever!" I said as I flew ahead, increasing my lead by a long shot.
