We had been following a small blood trail left behind by Lu or her attacker, and guess what? It had just run out! "What do we do, now, Ty? Follow her scent?" He nodded. "Exactly." I shook my head and began to protest, but he was already walking off towards the woods. "Oh, wow." These woods were not like any that I had ever seen before. The trees creaked as they moved and you could feel various pairs of eyes on you. "Ty, why would a bunch of demons steal Lu?" He flinched at the question and was silent for a while. Just as I was about to give up on getting an answer, he spoke. "She has admirers down here as well. They will have their uses for her... Try to get her to... mate with them. Have their kids..." I laughed and he shot me a look. "Ty, remember? She can't have kids because something happened to her when she was little." Ty's eyes went wide and he shook his head. "She never told me that." "Oh, no..." I had just told one of Lu's biggest secrets. "Please don't tell her that I told you." He nodded in indication to my plea and kept walking.
I pulled at the collar one last time and it snapped, falling from my neck. I dropped it and pulled at my restraints once more. This time, they broke. I laughed with relief and got up out of the chair. I heard the door unlock and I went to hide behind it. "Alright, My- Hey!" He rushed into the room and picked up the collar off of the floor. I shut the unlocked door behind him and he jumped. "Hello..." I said sweetly. He shook his head, but I nodded as I began to saunter over to him. "Please...." I grabbed him by the throat and smiled. "Goodbye!" I yelled as I snapped the vertebrata in his neck and let his body fall to the floor. I pulled the door open and saw about twenty demons outside. One had a gun pointed at my head and the others were, surprisingly, unarmed. "Ok... Overkill, guys." I moved back into my room and threw the body out, causing the demon to misfire his gun and hit me in the arm. I screamed and clenched my arm, feeling the blood flow. I managed to work the bullet out and heal my arm but the gun was still trained on me. I was going to have to act fast or not at all. "Ok, I'm going to come shut the door, now." As I walked over, the gunsman got cocky and moved one step closer. That was all that I needed. I grabbed his arm and pointed upwards, ready for his shot. Once the gun had gone off again, I snapped his arm, causing him to scream and let go of the gun. I aimed at the center of the crowd and they all backed up slightly. "Now, I'm going to walk out of here and you can tell your little boss that he'll just have to get along without me, got it?" I shot eight other demons in the head before the clip emptied and the others went running, probably to get backup. I ran out of the room and actually managed to find some ammo. I reloaded and then held the gun at my hip. I turned the corners slowly, ready for any danger. I saw the doors and nearly cried. I heard footsteps behind me, so I ran for the exit. A few shots rang out and I yelped once before I hit the doors, pushing them open and running for my life. I heard shouts coming from my right and turned to my left, hoping to lose whoever it was. The next thing I knew, I was lost in the woods.
"Ty, I swear that I hear yelling over to our right." He nodded and turned right, pulling out his sword while I mirrored him. I heard one little yelp and that's all that I needed to hear. I ran towards the yelp. It had to have been her. As we grew closer, there was a boom like the closing of doors and a few gunshots. "Lu!! Lu, it's Ty and Zayn! This way!" I yelled, praying that she might hear. I heard a scream and a few more gunshots before everything went quiet. "No... No!" I kept running and eventually came to a clearing with a large facility. There were guards everywhere and I just began hacking through the guards on instinct, Ty right behind me. We took about an hour killing every last one of them. By the time that we were done, my arms felt like they were going to fall off. "Lusetta!" I yelled with the last of my remaining strength. Ty clapped me on the back and I nearly fell over from the force he used. "Nice for a first fight, Zayn." I let my jaw drop slightly as he began totting off of the battlefield. "Wait!" I called out, relying on my reserve strength to keep me going. Ty found footprints in a matter of a few seconds and picked up her scent as well. "This way, quickly!" He yelled as I struggled to keep up, huffing and puffing as best I could. "Stop..." He whispered, allowing me a few moments to rest. I heard a small movement to my right and, before I could look, a shot rang out along with a stinging pain in my leg. Ty yelled something that was muffled by the amount of pain and exhaustion. A few seconds later, he disappeared from my view and came back with Lu, tears running down her face. I felt a sharp pain in my leg and yelled out, but it soon stopped and was replaced by the warmth of Lu's healing. Once I was coherent enough to talk, I smiled at her. "You know, you didn't have to try and kill me. All you had to do was ask me to leave." She punched my arm and I groaned, her punch a little bit harder than usual. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" She whimpered, starting to cry again. I held her face in my hands and pulled her down to me, kissing her gently. "Let's go home. I feel like crap and you have some explaining to do." She nodded and picked me up, insistent on carrying me.
