7. chapter 7
Ireland was beautiful. The rolling hills were greener than I thought possible. They made me think of the Shire in Lord of the Rings.
We also visited the bluffs that looked over the ocean. Even the rocky cliffs were covered with the luscious green grass. But this grass was mixed with little pink and white wildflowers making it look like a magical fairy land.
There was a cute little bench a few meters away from the edge so we sat. Thomas wrapped his arm around me and I snuggled my head into his chest.
"I have to talk to you."
I sat up and turned to look at him. He was looking down at his hands.
"Do you remember a few summers ago when you went to Paris with your French class in high school?"
"Yes..." I was starting to get nervous because of the caution in his voice.
"Well when you were gone I signed up for the army and went to boot camp. I got a call saying that I will be stationed in Afghanistan in two weeks."
I was shocked. I couldn't even speak. He looked up at me with his brown puppy eyes and I just lost it.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU ARE LEAVING IN TWO WEEKS! WHY WOULD YOU SIGN UP FOR THE ARMY!? I need you." I whispered the last part as tears slowly started to fall down my cheeks. I started sobbing. He pulled me towards him and wrapped his arms around me and held me. And I just cried into his chest.
