A Match Made In...

Ella is perfectly happy being single. Unfortunately, her best friend, Stephanie, has made it her number one priority to set Ella up with one of her guy mates. But with Stephanie's string of past disasters, Ella isn't exactly willing to agree, until Stephanie seems to find the perfect guy for her. Smart, funny, relatively good looking and the number one priority, watches the TV show Sherlock. But is this new found guy all he's cracked up to be?

2. Phone Numbers

"This is going to be amazing!!!" Stephanie squeals, throwing a pillow up in the air. "You two are going to grow up, and fall in love, and get married, and have kids, and all because of me, me, me!" She sings, dancing around the room. I roll my eyes.

"I only agreed to meet him!" I say, correcting Stephanie. After a pause, "What's his number?" Stephanie digs in her bag for her phone.

"Um..." She says, and reads out the number. I tap it into my phone, and click save, reminding myself to text him when I get home.

~~~~~~~~~~~Back Home~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I pull out my phone and click on Matthew's name. Send Message.
Hi Matthew, Stephanie gave me your number, I'm Ella. Apparently she wants us to meet up or something? Hoping you could enlighten me!x
I send the message, and wait for a reply.
One hour goes by.
Two hours.
Three hours. I've made my way through two movies and half a tub of ice cream. Still no reply, and I am about to give up hope when my phone pings and lights up. I seize it in anticipation as I read the message.
Sorry love, think you've got the wrong number. I'm not Matthew...
I stare at my phone, confused. Who is it then? Realisation dawns on me. Stephanie's obviously mucked up the numbers. She's done this before. One time, instead of giving me the number of a girl in my class, she gave me Domino's Pizza Delivery Service. Trust me, they were very confused when I rang up asking about a maths homework.
