Harold kept throwing punches at me, but luckily I was a lot quicker then him and dodged them easily.
"I have better things to do then babysit you for Dylan." Harold said flashing out.
That was a lot easier then I expected.
"Are you alright?" Trisha asked coming out from the room next door.
"Yeah I'm fine, what about you? How did you get out? where's Dylan?" I said in a rush, there was no time to waste.
"I'm alright. I'll explain later, its not important and he flashed out." She said.
"I'm going to bring you to Alison and help Mandy, then take the Devils powers."
"How are you going to do that?" She asked curiously.
"The professors have been working on a special potion." I said grabbing her arm and flashing out.
"Finally." Alison said standing. "We should be out there helping, especially you."
"I know, sorry." I said positioning myself in front of an unconscious Mandy. I closed my eyes and put my hands out in front of me waiting until they began to tingle. When I opened my eyes Mandy was awake and confused.
"The Devils are trying to steal your peoples souls." I explained.
I turned to Alison, "Can you watch them while I go finish what we've started?"
"I'm not babysitting them, this is my battle too!" She said getting angry.
"It's not safe to send them back, at least I know their with you." I say with pleading eyes.
"Who is she and where am I?" Mandy piped up.
I sighed and turned to her, "This is Alison and you are in The Golden Gate, which is located beside Heaven."
She fell silent and glared at me. "What?' I asked confused.
Alison chuckled and said, "I'm not his girlfriend, Trisha has nothing to worry about."
Mandy didn't say anything, but instead glanced over at Trisha, who was awfully quiet.
"We have already met and she had no problem with me." Alison said defensively.
"I don't trust you." Mandy said looking at me. "Marcus told me that you and Dylan are twins, did you know that Trisha?"
"Yes I did." She said.
"Why didn't you tell me!" Mandy said.
"Well um..." Trisha stuttered, that wasn't like her. What was up with her?
"She just found out today." Alison said rolling her eyes. "You have issues."
"Excess me?" Mandy said.
"Your getting mad at your sister for a stupid reason."
Mandy glared at her.
"I'm definitely not babysitting her."
"Could you guys shut up, like seriously bro!" Trisha yelled causing us all to look at her.
Since when did Trisha say 'bro'?
My jaw tightened and my eyes narrowed, "Dylan, where's Trisha?"
Before our eyes what we thought was Trisha morphed into Dylan. "Took you long enough to notice."
"Where's Trisha?!" I repeated.
"Like I'm going to tell you." He said
"How did you do that?" Mandy asked.
"Some of the Devils whipped it up for me." He said.
"Cameron, he's just doing this to distract you." Alison said as Dylan flashed out.
"If we hurry and defeat them, we can get back Trisha."
"I don't want him hurting her." I said deflated.
"Don't worry we'll save her."
"Since your not going to stay here with Mandy we should bring her to her friends, it's a lot safer then coming with us." I say to Alison.
"I'll bring her." Alison said flashing out with Mandy.
Two seconds later she was back.
"What's the update?" I ask as we make our way outside.
"We almost have all the Devils locked up, we just need to get the leaders." She recited. "I spoke to Allan and he told me that our assigned Devils are Harold and Dylan."
"Perfect." I said handing her a vial with the potion.
"So we just need to spill this on them and their powers will be gone?" Alison asked.
This was going to be difficult.
"I was with Harold earlier, but I didn't get a chance to use it on him."
"Well lets find him." Alison said determination in her eyes.
"Where do you think they would be?" I ask.
"Well they are most likely not on Earth yet, the smart thing to do would be eliminate all the Guardians first. Harold is probably getting the transporters ready, since professors are the only ones who can work them. Marcus probably let him in since he is the only one with access to the room." Alison says.
"And Dylan is probably with Trisha." I add.
"Should we split up?"
"No, that's what they want. Let's find Harold first."
We make our way to the castle. "The castle shouldn't be guarded right, since most of the Devils were caught?"
"Yeah." Alison says looking around the corner for any Devils.
"What part of the castle should we transport to?" I ask.
"Probably the main entrance."
"Okay I'll see you there, do you have the vial ready?"
"Yup." she says holding up the blue liquid.
We both flash out and reappear in the main entrance. There are shadows of the guards on the other side.
"I'm surprised there are no guards on this side." Alison whispers.
"They must have a lot near the room with the transporters." I say ascending the stairs.
We silently climbed the stairs until we heard a noise.
"I think we found the room." Alison says gripping the vial and slipping past me.
"I would like access to that room." Alison says.
"No can do." The man says pulling out a long black rod ."Put your hands up, I'm supposed to turn in any Guardians I come across.
We put our hands up and he takes out two pairs of hand cuffs.
He comes around to cuff Alison at the same time that she opens the vial, dumping some of the contents on him.
A glow of light emits from him and he slumps to the ground. "Wow this stuff is amazing." Alison says looking at his unconscious body.
"It not only takes their power away put it knocks them out long enough to lock them up." I say calling Allan on my watch.
"We are going to need backup." I say.
"Okay I'll send some, where are you?" He asks.
I click it off and slowly open the door.
After knocking out a bunch of guards we finally come across Harold, who was too busy typing away at his computer to hear us coming.
I wrap my arm around his neck and squeeze it, taking him by surprise.
"You know I'm quite disappointed in you." I say mocking the way he use to discipline his students.
In response he coughs and sputters.
"You know, you were my favourite professor. I looked up to you, I trusted you." I say my voice faltering.
I held out my hand to Alison and she set the vial in my hand.
"It's a shame I have to do this." I say waving it in his face.
I slowly unscrew the cap as he trashes in the chair and let a drop fall in between his eyes. I let go as he falls to the floor.
"Let's go find Dylan."
We transported back to the spot where I thought I saved Trisha.
"Trisha!" I yell hoping he hears me and comes to me.
"Do you know where she was being kept hostage?" Alison asks looking around.
"The next room, but if he's smart he would have moved her." I say my confidence seeping out .
"I'll go check, just in case." Alison say turning, then stops. "Cameron, we'll find her."
I nod and walk towards a tear in the back wall. The building itself is quite small, but it seemed weird that there were only two rooms, it was that small.
I pulled back the wallpaper revealing a door. I grab hold of the handle and push it open. An arm pulls me in and throws me to the ground. I look up to find Dylan resealing the door.
"Nice of you to drop by." He says a with a wicked look in his eyes.
I opened my mouth to respond when there was a shriek.
"Alison!" I yelled trying to get to the door, but Dylan was blocking it.
"Not so fast, she's fine, just a little frightened." Dylan says laughing.
"Dylan just give up your outnumbered, all your little minions were caught." I say slowly reaching for the vial, but my pocket is empty.
"You look a little scared, did you think you lost this?" Dylan said holding the vial up.
"Not much of a secret weapon, since you told me when you thought I was Trisha, you forgot didn't you?" He says laughing again, fire blazing in his cold eyes.
He twisted the cap off and lunged at me. "I've been waiting for a long time to ruin your life, you may not already know but I accomplished that goal earlier today. This can be considered part two." He hissed in my face pinning me down to the ground.
How did he already ruin my life?
I tried to wiggle free but it was no use he was stronger then me, he obviously planed to one day attack me and it never once occurred me to buff up a bit.
He brought the vial to my face enjoying my pained expression.
"Cameron where are you?!" Alison yelled, you could clearly hear the panic in her voice.
"Alison?" I yelled hoping she could find me.
Dylan quickly covered my mouth.
"Cameron?" She said hopeful.
I attempted to bring my knee up, hoping to put him off balance, as he was only holding himself up on one arm . He slightly moved giving me enough room to knee him. He stumbled off causing the vial to tip, a drop of the blue substance falling in slow motion. I quickly moved out of the way, but not fast enough. It landed on my arm, immediately being absorbed by my skin. But I was still awake. a thought occurred that I may have more time because I'm The Guardian.
Dylan chuckled in victory as I smacked the vial from him hand spilling it down his arm. Shock crossed his face but only for a moment before he passed out.
I could feel myself relax as I too slipped away.
"Cameron! Cameron!" Someone said as I was violently shaken.
"Alison?" I said when I realized it was her.
I looked around the room as a few Guardians were hauling Dylan away.
"Are you alright?" I asked remembering her screaming.
Her eyes were wide and she had a pitied look on her face.
"I'm so sorry Cam." She whispered.
She only called me Cam when she had bad news.
"He killed her." She said no louder then a soft breeze.
I could feel everything in my body stop, trying to process what she just said.
"Dylan killed Trisha. I walked in and she was tied up to the chair with a slit across her throat. Allan says it was done earlier today."
You may not already know but I accomplished that goal earlier today.
He killed her...
No that couldn't be true, I was going to walk into the other room and she was going to be there, more radiant then ever, with a huge smile on her face and a sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes.
Without warning tears stained my cheeks.
Alison wrapped her arms around me and whispered, "You did it, you bet them. She would be proud of you."
I shook my head, "I didn't save her."
A figure stooped in front of us. "I'm sorry for your loss Cameron." Allan said patting my shoulder.
I wiped my tears away and stood up. "Thanks."
"I heard that you were hit with the potion." He says.
I nod. I could no longer feel the thump of energy through my veins.
"I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but without your powers-"
"I can't be a Guardian, I know." I finish.
"However Marcus' wife, who had no clue what he was up to, thinks that you should be our leader. You did save us and at the risk of your own life." I looked at him dumbfound.
"I also have one more surprise." He said smiling.
"What?" I asked.
I ran out the of the golden gate towards the bridge that sat in fog.
It was a beautiful sight but what stood in front of it was a lot more stunning.
"Cameron!" She said jumping into my arms. I spun around a couple times before setting her down.
"Trisha I'm so sorr-" She cut me off by bringing her lips to mine.
"There was nothing you could do, you were trying to save your people."
"I just feel like it's my fault. I took you from your family." I said looking away.
"I will one day reunite with them. If it wasn't my time to go, then I wouldn't have been here right now." She said bringing my face to hers.
"What?" she asked.
"I'm the new leader of the Guardian Angels! And-this is my favourite part-since I saved my world, they are allowing you to live inside the golden gate. Something no human has ever done! They are also going to let Mandy come and visit every so often!" I said beaming.
"For real, that's amazing! I thought I was never going to see you again!"
"Me too." I said hugging her.
"How come you don't glow anymore?"
"I lost my powers while battling Dylan." I said frowning.
"But you ended beating him right?" She said optimistically.
"Yeah, I did and as long as I'm with you, I don't mind being powerless." I said gazing into her blue eyes.
"I love you, Cameron."
"I love you too, Trisha."
I cupped her delicate face in my hands and kissed her like I never kissed her before.
