8. little Dormmy's Firey hotdog gumbo discoverd: 8/11/13
THIS DISH IS HUGE!!!! I used a 4 cup cereal bowl and it filled me up for a VERY long time while cooking this so this dish is 2 HUGE servings so fill that Mini bowl to the BRIM and spice it up!
BEFORE YOU BEGIN!!!!! THIS DISH CAN BE CUSTOMIZED DUE TO SPICINESS (and don't forget that the spices can go to the bottom of the dish.. I made mine a bit too hard for my...yeah).
1 serving= 1/2 of the dish- about 436 calories !
1 can of Campblle's tomato soup (I used the Healthy request soup)
Frank's WING (or any other hot) sauce
miss Dash Original
the gumbo itself:
1/2 cup of instant mash potatoes (I used Kroger brand)
2/3 cup of Fit and Active brown rice
2 (or more) Hebrew Natural 97% free hotdogs
2 separate microwave dishes
(optional) shredded cheese
what to do:
1. Make the rice first as it says on the box and then set it aside for now.
2. then make the mash WITHOUT THE BUTTER OR MILK the microwave (you will not miss it).
3. while you are waiting for the potatoes, you can make the sauce. you can make this two ways... straight out of the can or by the directions and then add the seasonings and Frank's to taste to your liking. By the time you are experimenting... the mash potato should be done and add EVERYTHING TOGETHER in the Rice/Mash bowl.
3 cook the hotdogs for 2 minutes in the microwave for 2 min and SHRED THEM UP and place them into the mash mix and Stir WELL Nothing should be left to any other color but red.
4 put in shredded cheese if wanted and if the mixture got a bit cold to rewarm it become this is best served that way.
