13. My Apology.

Mason's POV

I sat down at my desk. The last week had been hell for the pack. Ian had murdered Kyra's mate. He'd turned himself in for murder. He told them he had burned the body and told them what he had done to Kyra. Of course, Kyra was in pieces. I knew she was pissed at me. I'd done nothing to help her and everything to hurt her. I'd only acted that way at the Falls because I wanted her to leave him. I've never been good with words. Now I wish I could take it back.

I should have held her, and told her how much I loved her. Now she'll never know. She was leaving town. She was leaving me. Forever.

I felt tears start rolling down my face. My mom placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Sweetie? Are you ok?", she said.

"No, Mom. I'm not. I never will be.", I answered. Then I told her everything. She listened closely, and when I was finished she said in her motherly tone,

"Then why are you here instead of at the airport? Your not going to accomplish anything sitting there feeling sorry for yourself."

She was right. I ran to my truck and drove to the airport. Kyra was outside in the parking lot. I stood there like an idiot, until she looked at me. I walked up to her.

"What are you doing Mason?", she asked.

I moved closer until our chests were touching. I put one hand on her back and the other bunched in her hair. Knowing the words I wanted to say would never work, I kissed her. I didn't know if she would forgive me, so I poured myself into that kiss. I felt like we were the only living things on Earth. She sighed and I wrapped my arms around her.

"Please don't leave, Kyra. I need you. I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed me. I'll never forgive myself for that and I don't expect you to either. Just let me make it right. I promise you Kyra, I will be there for you from here on, whether you want me to or not. I love you Kyra, and nothing will ever change that." I was crying again before I'd even finished.

"Mason...I love you too. I don't know if I can forgive you, but I can't live without you, so I'll have to try."

"So you'll stay?"

"Come on. Lets go home."

We went to my cabin. We wanted to be alone and Garth had moved into an extra room in the main house. She had fallen asleep in the truck, so I carried her inside. When I put her down on the couch her eyelids fluttered open. She stared at me with those beautiful bright green eyes.

"Mason?", she asked.

"Yes, love?"

"Come here." I sat down beside her.

She threw her arms around my neck and straddled my lap. Her breasts were in front of my face and I was having a hard time controlling myself. She kissed me and took off her shirt. I couldn't believe this was happening, but I didn't care. I rolled her over so she was underneath me.

I rolled over in my bed the next morning and pulled Kyra closer. She giggled and I smiled. She turned to face me and said,

"How did we end up here?"

"I don't know, but I do know it was amazing."

"I'm hungry.",she said.

"Then lets fix breakfast. What do you want?", I asked.

"Pancakes! And bacon and-"

"Why don't we just fix all the food in the house?", I interuppted.

"That works too."

"Get up, lazy. I'm not doing this by myself.", I said as she climbed back under the covers to go back to sleep.

"Fine."

We got dressed and went into the kitchen planing to make breakfast, but came out covered in food. We ate cereal instead. Later we headed up to our waterfall. The rest of the day was spent play fighting and just talking.

I'm so glad Kyra listened to my apology. I can't imagine life without her here.

"So what are we going to do tomorrow?", she asked as we walked back home.

"Why don't we introduce you to everyone?", I asked.

"I've already met the pack."

"I mean as my mate."
