Albus lead the way back to his carriage, with the girl close behind him. As he opened the compartment door, they were greeted by looks of confusion, given by both James and Rose. The girl gave a small wave, then realised there was blood on her fingertips, quickly stopped. In an instant, James began to smile.
"Merlin's beard, Al, you were quick at that!"
"Shut up!" Albus blushed, whilst the other three giggled at James' joke. "I bumped into her in the corridors, knocked her over. Thought I could make it up to her by cleaning her up."
"Okay, okay, sorry Al." Rose smiled fondly. She strode up to the girl. "Hi, I'm Rose, try guessing my last name."
The girl snorted at Rose's joke, then had to hold her nose again to prevent a bad first impression.
"Let's get you cleaned up then, eh?" Rose brought her to a seat near the window, then pulled down and rummaged through her trunk. "Aha! Found it!" She pulled out a large, old book, all tattered and torn.
"What is that?!" James exclaimed.
"Just a book Mum lent me, she figured I'd have to fix a few injuries, she certainly did." She muttered, flicking through the speckled pages. "There it is! Broken noses! Ready? It might hurt."
The girl nodded and went to squeeze her eyes shut, but then winced.
"Episkey!" Rose commanded, pointing her wand at the girl's nose. She yelped in pain, and muttered a few words Albus thought to keep for moments he may need them. James chuckled to himself at her reaction.
"There, all fixed! Just need to clean up the blood, then you'll be fine. Oh, you didn't say your name."
"Eee-oo!" She said, through a nose full of blood.
"What?" Albus questioned. "How about we clean you up first?" She nodded. James stood up to grab his hankie out of his pocket ,and began to clean up her nose.
"There, all done!" James smiled. "I'm James; can you say your name now?"
She laughed, this time not having to cover her nose. "I'm Cleo, Cleo Finnigan."
"Woah, just don't blow me up, okay?" James teased.
"Nah, that's my brother. My mum says its his only flaw."
"And yours?" James smiled his crooked smile.
"How long do you have?" Cleo asked, one eyebrow raised.
"Hang on," Albus puzzled aloud "Why would she blow us up?"
"Her dad, Seamus Finnigan, was in our parents year. He was notorious for blowing things up in Potions Class. In the end, it came it quite handy; he blew up the bridge to Hoqwarts, holding off the Death Eaters, am I right?" Rose explained to Albus.
"Yep." Cleo replied
"Does he blow anything up now then?"
"No, he can't really, he makes brooms."
"That's amazing!" Albus cried. The jobs in the wizarding world often puzzled him, but most of their world was amazing, and never ceased to surprise and stun him, with or without enchantments.
