I turned on the radio in my blue Mini, the Best Song Ever from One Direction's Midnight Memories album came on and Lucy immediately lunged forward to turn up the volume.
We sang along loudly, our voices blasting out over the blaring music. I'm sure the other drivers would think we were mad or something, but who cares.
Eventually, the song ended and I quickly lowered the sound as the presenter started talking.
"Do we need to stop at your house to choose an outfit or have you already got one?" I questioned Lulu, keeping my eyes straight ahead on the road. "Nope." she said, popping the 'p', "You'll love it! I have it in my bag, I'll show it to you when we get to your place." smiling happily, she continued staring out the window as we drove along.
Pushing open my bedroom door, I chucked my backpack on the floor and motioned for Lucy to do the same. I plonked myself onto the bed, grabbing the owl pillow and setting it on my crossed legs.
"I need to see your clothes, like now?!" I demanded, laughing as Lucy rolled her bright blue eyes and picked up her bag, pulling out a pair of dark blue denim shorts, a pink top with the words "DANCE ALL NIGHT SLEEP ALL DAY" and a pair of galaxy vans, along with silver clover earrings and a tan shoulder bag.
"Voilà!" she sang and held up her arms in a strange pose. "Ooooh! Very nice!" I responded, "Now I just have to find something in my wardrobe to match you standards." I joked, tugging lightly on her long blonde hair.
I jumped off the bed, sending the owl pillow flying across the room, and slide open my wardrobe and scanning through the three rails of trousers, tops, dresses and skirts. Lucy came and stood beside me, twirling her hair through her fingers and tapping her foot as she thought.
"What about this?" I took out a knee length floral summer dress, biting my lip as I waited for Lucy's approval. "Pretty, but I don't think so." she criticized, "This is nice." picking up a woollen panda jumper, she showed it to me. "Lu, I would literally die from heatstroke if I wore that!" I raised my eyebrows at her and she blushed, "Oops! I kinda forgot about that!" she giggled from embarrassment. "Wait!" I shouted, as I spotted something hidden at the back of the wardrobe, "This," I pulled out a white off-the-shoulder jumper with an 'XO' on the front, "and this." I tugged a black skater skirt off of it's hanger, holding the outfit out to show Lulu. "Yes!!" she squealed, "And these flats!" she opened out the shoe compartment to reveal a pair of black and white striped flats. I nodded eagerly and pushed the wardrobe doors over to the others side and grabbed a pink floral headband and a pair of small pearl earrings. "When in doubt, accessorise!" I giggled, laying them with the two outfits on the double bed. "Yay!" Lucy clapped her hands cheerfully, "I'm really so excited now!" I tugged her round the room and we spun in crazy circles for a while until we collapsed on the carpet, panting heavily.
I looked out my bedroom window, as a movement from across the street caught my eye. It was Brielle and her friend, Lucy I think she's called, dancing around her bedroom together. I watched as they spun in circles, clearly singing to music, with massive smiles plastered on their faces. Brielle swung her head, causing her long, flowing hair to whip round in the air. Suddenly, she was facing the window and I quickly dropped to the floor, feeling a blush creep onto my cheeks. I leaned my back against the wall, listening to the sound of One Direction's latest album coming from my sister's room on the other side of the wall.
I suddenly remembered Brielle's offer to drive us to the concert, and clambered up from the floor.
"Sarah?" I stuck my head round her door to find her lying on her bed playing on her iPod while mouthing the words of the song. "Yeah?" she looked up, her blue eyes gazing questioningly at me.
"How are we getting to the concert tomorrow?" I walked on in and flopped onto the bed beside her.
"Umm... I don't know, I think Mum's taking us." she returned her attention to her iPod, her blonde hair falling across her face.
"Well, I have a better plan." I snatched the iPod out of her hands, "Hey! I was using that!" Sarah complained. Grinning evilly I replied, "Yes, and if you want it back you'll listen to what I have to say." I raised my eyebrows, challenging her to object. She opened her mouth to yell to our mum, but I quickly clamped my hand over it, "Brielle offered us a lift, 'cause she said that her and her friend are going to the concert too." I took my hand away and she shrugged, "Alright, and did you agree?" Sarah tilted her head and raised her eyebrows at me.
"Why are you giving me that look? I said I didn't know if you had something arranged and that I'd check with you. Besides, it would save Mum having to drive us there and then go home and then come back to get us and then go home again, when Brielle and I think Lucy are going there, and then home." I stood up and looked at her. A small smile appeared on her face, "Sure." she said nodding slowly, "You can go ask Mum." grabbing her iPod back, she resumed what she had previously been doing. "Oh, and make sure to wear something nice looking tomorrow." she called as I left. "Whatever!" I yelled back to her.
Girls are so weird.
