"So you're Sarah, right?" I asked the tall skinny girl sitting beside me on the fresh green grass. She smiled, plucking at the grass with her fingers, "Yep, just to warn you I'm slightly crazy at times." Brielle and Peter shared a knowing look.
"She'll fit right in with us!" Brielle laughed, rolling onto her stomach and resting her head in her arms. Her dirty blonde hair fell across her face, shining golden in the sun and hiding her sparkling green eyes. I turned my attention back to Sarah and Peter and saw that he was staring at Brielle, a longing look on his face. Sarah then poked him saying, "Yo Pete, what time is it?" a slight blush appeared on his cheeks, before he pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked the screen.
"Quarter past twelve." Peter replied, looking up at us with his big brown eyes. I can see why Brielle likes him, Sophie and I HAVE to set them up!
"Oh my! The concert is in one hour and forty-five minutes, I'm so excited now!" Brielle quickly sat up, a smile bursting onto her freckled face as she clapped her hands together.
I fixed my hair to one side, and answered, "I think we should maybe go back now. You know, get some food, get changed or whatever?" standing up, I reached out my arms to yank Brielle up too.
Sarah and Peter clambered up also and Sarah grinned mischievously at him, "Yeah, and if you take too long this time, Peter, you'll miss our lift to the concert!" she playfully whacked him over the head and he shoved his hands in his pockets, smiling at the ground. As Sarah skipped ahead, his smile got bigger and he sprinted after her, tackling her to the ground. She let out shrieks of laughter as Peter tickled her.
"Hey, Lu?" Brielle nudged me, "I think we should just run away and leave these CRAZY PEOPLE!" she shouted the last part, causing the two siblings to raise their heads and stare at her.
As the moment of fun took over, I hollered, "Last one back is a rotten egg!" Before bounding up the path as fast as my legs would carry me.
The second Lucy had declared a race and sprang up from the grass, Brielle was ahead and had already over-taken Lucy. Sarah was still recovering from laughing so hard so I swiftly sprinted, easily passing Lucy and catching up to Brielle. We left Sarah and Lucy behind and continuously glanced at each other in wordless competition.
We rounded the corner, Brielle falling back slightly, into the street and throwing ourselves onto the grass in her front garden. The only sounds as we lay there was our heavy breathing and the occasional bird singing.
"So," I lifted my head breaking the silence, "looks like I won." She sat up on her elbows, "Nah, I think I won." she giggled. Agggh! I loved that cute little laugh of hers, and the way her whole face lit up when she smiled. Suddenly I felt something gently poking my cheek, "Earth to Peter?" Brielle called. Shaking my head I replied, "Sorry, what were you saying?"
She threw her head back laughing, "'Cause I'm kind, I'll let you win." I smiled, "I did say that I won!" Doing a funny victory dance I grinned up at her.
"Yeah, but they do say; 'First the worst, second the best.'!" Brielle playfully fist bumped my shoulder.
"Hey!" I protested, before I realised that Sarah had appeared round the corner, Lucy close behind, "That means Saz has the hairy chest!" I chuckled. She shrugged her dainty shoulders, "Or a treasure chest, or even a wedding dress!"
