An End to Your Love
I watched as the chain of the massive chandelier strung with sparkling crystals in the hallway slowly bent and snapped, right above my head, the massive diamond shaped crystal in the centre of the chandelier fell.
Beatrice screamed as she lunged forward knocking me to the ground, but she fell right in the path of the diamond.
The earsplitting shriek that came right before the diamond entered her torso would haunt my dreams forever. All of a sudden her beautiful white flower embroidered frock was stained red and she was gasping for breath.
I ran to her and kneeled beside her shivering body, "Lily," she whispered
"Don't worry, you're gonna be fine," I wasn't sure if I was talking to her or myself but I said it anyway as tears began streaming down my cheeks.
"Lily," she repeated, I nodded looking at her blurred face through my tears, "listen to me," I continued nodding and the tears where flowing like a river now, I clutched her ice cold hand, "Lily, you are a very special child and you can never forget that, but I must warn y-..."
She started gasping for air and clutching my hand tighter and tighter, "Don't........Trust..................."
All of a sudden her grip loosened, "goodbye," and then the gasping stopped, her body lay limp in my arms.
"No, you can't die," I kept muttering it over and over, I started pumping her chest, "you can't, you just can't," I kept pumping, "wake up, please wake up," I started rambling on about whatever I could think about, "What about me? What about the orphanage? What about Charles and Rebekah?"
I looked at my hands and they where covered in blood, "mummy," I whispered as I lay over her body sobbing as if it could bring her back, but how could I do anything to help, after all only bad things happen around me.
Maybe that's why I lost my mother in the first place, and now I'd lost this one too, the only person who has ever cared for me, nourished me,
And now she was gone.
