6. Moving on
Morning came and Emma set about packing up her things, Ruth and Dante had gotten used to her heavy handed mannerisms and just ignored the air of rudeness that clung to her like a large dog. "Where now?" Ruth asked, sitting down on a branch only a few feet off the ground and dangling her legs below. "We find somewhere else to stay" Dante sighed and threw some things into a bag. He pulled out 2 apples and threw one each to Ruth and Emma, who muttered their thanks and Emma began wolfing the sweet fruit down.
"Aren't you going to eat anything?" Ruth said picking at her own apple.
"Nah, you two need you're strength up, I'll be fine"
"But you've got to eat something" she persisted and took a bite, throwing the apple back to him.
"I guess" They continued to share it, throwing it to one another until all that was left was the core. Emma dropped down from the tree and laid on the floor, her eyes shut in contempt "That was the first thing I've eaten in days" She smiled and sat up, "How about I take you to my patch of the wood and see what we can forage" Dante shrugged and looked to Ruth,
"I'm ok with it, what about you Ruth?"
"Yeah sounds good, lead the way Em" she said and the three slung their belongings over their back and moved on through the wood.
