Water is one of the most important reasons we are alive today.  Without it, the Earth would simply shrivel up and most likely implode.

So how has water 'appeared' on our planet?

Well, water was brought to Earth millions of years ago by meteors crashing into Earth when the planet was first formed.  Each meteor carried tiny droplets from across the galaxy.  So, think about this; each drop of water is millions of years old, and came from billions of miles away!
