We arrived at the faire around 6:15. We pulled into the back entrance for the workers to park and it was disgusting.
"Where is the parking lot?" I asked looking around.
"This is the Renaissance Faire. The point of it is to act like you are back n that time period. The only updated things they have are the clothes they wear after the faire and maybe some stuff they bring," I mom mumbled getting out of the car.
I got out of the car and noticed someone walking towards us with a cigarette in his hand. My mom noticed this too because she began walking over to him. I am guessing that, that is either Mary's son or someone else she knew.
I went around back of the car and grabbed my duffel bag with my makeup and some of my shoes and my laptop and walked up to the front of the car sitting on the hood waiting to go to the stupid place I have to stay in.
My mom and the guy finished talking and headed over to me.
"Hannah, This is Zayn. Mary's son. The guy who is being kind enough and letting you stay with him in his shop and work-"
"You can tell how thankful I am," I retorted rolling my eyes.
"Nice to know my kindness is being noticed," the Zayn guy said taking a puff of his cigarette.
"Hannah, be nice!" my mother hissed.
I rolled my eyes and was about to make another witty comment but my dad walked up with the rest of my stuff. Zayn put of his cigarette and went and grabbed my suitcases. He took them and bean walking towards a gate that I'm guessing lead into a part of the faire.
When we entered, I'm guessing, his shop, we were lead up stairs that were hidden from view and we entered a small room with a king sized bed in the corner, a kitchen area on the other side of the small room and a couch next to the top of the stairs.
Zayn put my stuff he was carrying on the bed and my dad and I did the same with what he was carrying.
"I wanna thank you again for taking in my daughter. I know it wasn't the easiest decision and I know that it's not going to be easy keeping her here with you." My dad said shaking Zayn's hand.
"It's no problem. I'm always up for a challenge," he said looking over at me retiring my dad's handshake.
I rolled my eyes and my dad let go of the handshake and turned to me, "We are only doing this for your own good-"
He sighed and turned to my mom and they walked out. No use saying goodbye or any of that crap because it doesn't even matter. As soon as this is over, I am finding a new place to live. The only reason I am not gonna find a new place sooner is because I am getting paid to be here.
I turned around and realized that I was left alone with Zayn in the small room. I sighed and rolled my eyes pulling out my phone. I realize that I am standing here on my phone, probably looking stupid, but I don't care,
"You really are a grumpy person, aren't you?" he chuckled.
I looked up from my phone, "Or, I just have no desire to be here. I would much rather be at home taking selfies and tweeting about chocolate fondu." I remarked.
"Nice, conceded and sarcastic- oh don't forget grumpy."
"You, sir, are an ass-"
"If I am such a jerk, the why am I letting you have the bed? Why and I sacrificing my bed for you to use?"
"Maybe because I am a girl?"
"Yeah, defiantly the reason," he laughed.
"What does that even mean?"
"Nothing. You can put your crap at the foot of the bed. I'll be downstairs setting up my shop for the first day tomorrow, if yo need me. I don't see why you would though. It doesn't take two people to move a few bags and two suitcases to the floor." He said as he walked down the stairs leaving me to myself.
