At the bottom, he found his same old lab - His strictly “Undergoing Construction” lab! There, he found Axel and all his research, just like he’d left it on Friday. The test tubes in perfect condition and the chemicals exactly 5 cm apart, so they didn’t contaminate each other.
“Even though any person would love what lies in here but to me its seems just like a plain, boring office.” Garry sighed as he prepared to knuckle down to more write-ups and planning, shame. Still he could go abroad soon, especially since his pay had doubled, and the fact that Axel would chip in if he could go with him. Time passed and he still was no closer to his goal, his own space-time continuum...
Later he began to write:
1350 hrs June 24th 3564
Alas, I’m no closer to what lies for me within the vast place known as the future. Genius cannot be rushed, I know, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have to take shortcuts in what I know and love.
