October soon arrived, and with it came a cold chill which hung in the air. Halloween was fast approaching, ever coming closer. Students were already having to wrap their scarves around their mouths, so as not to catch a cold. Failier to do so had occured many times within the noble house of Gryffindor alone. I don't even want to write about how many kids fell ill in the period of about a month.
"Hey, c'mon Lily we'll be late for the feast! You don't want to miss it, do you?" That was the voice of Melody Green (that's me Lib, ;) calling her best friend, Lily Evans. "Alright, I'm coming," Lily replied. She walled down the stairs looking beautiful as always. "Right. I'm ready now, so let's go."
As the pair entered the Great Hall, they were stunned as always. Candles hung from the ceiling along with charmed bats and spiders. The plates of food hovered up juts over the tables, manouvering themselves to anyone who asked for that particular food. You name it, it was there. Like that, at a simple snap of your fingers. There was Chicken, potatoes, crisps, sandwiches, biscuits, trifle, peas, carrots, cake, chocolates, bertie bott's every flavoured beans, chocolate frogs: anything you could think of. Students of Hogwarts digged in to their glorious food...
James Potter happily tucked into his dinner with his friends, laughing and joking all the way. Or at least that was what it looked like on the outside. What if Lily truly didn't want him as he wanted her? What if she rejected him for the rest of his life? Could and WOULD he be able to win her over? It didn't seem so. After the feast, he checked his to do list...
