Poetry Completion

A poetry completion of emotions and how at times I don't know how to take on the world. If themes like suicide and cutting trigger you please don't read. I am not posting these for pity, I am posting these simply because I have had these and I really like the ones posted. And i would like to post some for writing competitions and publishing. Because all of them hold a piece of me and how I feel when I am alone.

2. Sad, Tired, Exhausted

Sad, tired, exhausted eyes

They notice the world for what it is

She sees emotions but masks her own

Her world of gates, mazes, twists, and turns

But does she even know her way out?

Out of the tears and blood

Out of the dark spider web castle

She doubts her emotions, no longer understanding the maze

Crown and throne tossed aside

Clenching pills, rope, and blades closer than before

The queen who used to be “Okay” no longer is

Who is to say she ever really was

The once cheery eyes clouded by remorse for past actions

Back when it was suffer or death

She choose to suffer though she doesn't know why

Maybe it was a sign, maybe it was a joke of fate.

In a pair of sad, tired, exhausted eyes

The cuts deepen, pills get bigger, and a rope gets shorter

The throne falls, a crown falls to the floor

Now the king returns

He sees what has become of her

His broken queen

After she stopped smiling

Suddenly she was no longer “Okay”

She stopped caring, stopped loving

Then the queen laid down her crown and throne

And she whispered a simple… Goodbye
