Poetry Completion

A poetry completion of emotions and how at times I don't know how to take on the world. If themes like suicide and cutting trigger you please don't read. I am not posting these for pity, I am posting these simply because I have had these and I really like the ones posted. And i would like to post some for writing competitions and publishing. Because all of them hold a piece of me and how I feel when I am alone.

9. Love In Stale Cigarettes and Stolen Whiskey

Much to old stale cigarettes a carton of red and white

The deep burning in the souls of two

Two souls walking down the street hand in hand, smoke billowing up

A social casualty by some social winners by others

They walk the girl laughing the male smiling

Tickling then an uproar of laughter

Though a couple on the other side

Many sit and watch them pass

They mock the girls stupidity for the boy

They watch them smoke and talk about their health

Yet this couple does the same

As the girl and the guy walk they get noticed

Whether good or bad

They pay no attention to it

They are in a bliss, some how they are

In a world of dark they found a little spark of light

This little spark occurs more like a flame to them

A sudden burst of energy burning for longer than a second

Though in the time of the universe

It is only a blink of the eye for their joy

Cigarettes smoked by underage teens

A little spark igniting their eyes

Shot of stolen whiskey, puff of a scavenged pack

They laugh and hug, kiss and make love

These are the reasons why being a teen is amazing

Feeling of no consequences

Feeling of no laws to crush them

The shark tank of people

Out of College and Highschool this ends

People get lives

But for a little while enjoy it

Relish in the little love found

Here these two people found happiness

Here in this dark dim world they found joy

They found a love many will not

Though it isn’t perfect nothing ever is

They found it and isn’t that the amazing thing

So though many mock

Many tell them it is just young and foolish

They took a chance many don’t even as adults and that deserves respect

A chance to get hurt

Chance to get crushed by another

Chance to go to the depths of personal hell

This was all exchanged by saying yes

Smoking much to old cigars and cigarettes

Scavenged from churches and ash trays

We met, when you were hurt and I was mending

Helping you and I some how not become complete but find the strengh

They strength to overcome

Strength to leave the past behind

So, take the final puffs from the pack, the final shots from the bottle

Let’s relish in the fact we have something many do not.
