4. Chapter 3

*inspired by Hannibal*

I fly over the crowded streets of New York. Its evening and everyone is going back home. I need to find a place to sleep safely, so I go to the barn, which is on the very outskirts of town. There is a strange man in a suit who quickly scurries out of the barn with a big sac. I fly to my usual spot on the roof of the barn, but there is someone occupying my place.
It was a corpse of a woman, with some organs and pieces of flesh cut out of her body. There was blood dripping everywhere, and there were many bugs flying around her. I joined in. I soon realized, that wasn't the only body. There were 4 more, all lined up next to that corpse. They were all hung the same way from the ceiling. They were all missing organs and parts of their flesh. They also all had horns impaled through where their hearts are supposed to be, except the hearts are also missing.
All the women had characteristics in common, they all had blond hair, blue eyes, and were all around 13 to 16 years old.
Their eyes were wide open, as if they were still horrified by the terrible way their lives have been stolen away from them. All their hands were connected with rope. I looked around, and realized they formed a circle.

At the center of the circle on the ceiling, there were five deer heads, with their horns missing. I concluded that the killer took the horns off their heads and impaled the women with them. I don't think this is just any murder.... it's a work of art.

The owner of the barn walks in, and proceeds to do whatever farmers do. He doesn't notice the bodies on the ceiling. He closes the barn, and goes back home.

The next morning, I wake up, and the bodies aren't so fresh anymore, and they stink really bad. I don't think the bodies will remain undiscovered for long. Just then, the farmer walks in, and notices the smell. He looks up, and nearly faints. He screams in terror, and his wife hurries and asks him what's wrong. She screams and faints, and he calls the police.
Several hours later, the whole place is covered in police cars and squad, and I hear one of the policemen saying something about "this isn't the first time something like this happens."
I look around, and I see the peculiar man from yesterday that hurried out of the barn. He seemed very relaxed, and was talking to one of the policemen.
"Thank you so much for your help, William. We'll talk later."

"No problem. I would also like to invite you and your wife over for dinner. Also tell your detective that he can come too." says the peculiar man - William.

William then walks away with a grin on his face. He went back to his house, and went into the kitchen. His kitchen looked very advanced with many different tools and high technology equipment. He then took out his sac from a secret storage fridge, and took out the organs. He then spent the entire day cooking the organs and making the fanciest meals.

By sundown, guests started to come. About a dozen people showed up, and they all started to chat and laugh. William watched and smiled. He brought out the food, and everyone gathered around.
"I'm really glad everyone is here. Please have fun and enjoy your meals!" He smiled and sat down. Everyone cheered and started eating.
I looked around and realized that most these people were from the police squad.
Everyone seemed to be having a good time, but the detective didn't touch his food. He stared at William from a distance, and asked, "What is this meat William? I've never tasted it before."

William looked him in the eye, and everyone was quiet because they wanted to know the answer too.
William took a breath, then said, "Rabbits."
The detective relaxed and said, "I guess the rabbits should have hopped faster huh?" and laughed. Everyone else laughed and went back to their meals.
"Yes, they should have." William chuckled, as he thought about how naive all these people were.
