The next day, half the girls in my grade had lost their virginity. The rest had managed to escape their kings. ...Somehow.
But where was Natalie? Had she run away and not returned?
I asked around, but no one knew.
I continued to search frantically around the school until there was an announcement.
"Please excuse the interruption..." the speaker hesitated and her voice was shaky. "We... we now have word that three of our students, all eleventh-graders, have... umm..." she hesitated.
I held my breath.
She continued to speak about things Ike how important the girls were to the school and such, but all I heard was "commited suicide" floating around in my head. Natalie HAD to be one of those girls. She would have contacted me otherwise.
...Unless Ryan, HER king, stole her phone and laptop.
Many people were crying, even some guys for causing the suicide, but I felt that I needed to cry most.
I found Jace talking to his friends. Tears streaming down my face, I tapped his shoulder. "Yeah, queen?" he grunted, turning to face me.
"Can we leave school early?" I bit my lip.
Jace nodded without hesitation. "Sure."
We ate lunch at his house. Jace slapped me many times, for I had refused to eat the PB/J sandwich, which was Natalie's favorite, that he offered.
After eating Jace handed me more homework to do. Then he left to take a nap.
"Keep that sob down, queen," he warned.
But as soon as Jace entered his room, I tore his homework to bits, left them on the ground, and hugged my knees and cried again.
