1. the meeting
It was at band camp my freshman year that I met her. We both played the french horn. We sat in our seats on the first day of band camp. She turned to me and smiled.
"Hi, how are you?" She said. I was so nervous. I didn't think anyone noticed me.
"Good" I said. I didn't know what else to say. I decided to get to know her. She was pretty and sweet.
I wanted him to feel welcomed. I knew how first day of band camp was. It was my sophomore year. He seemed lonely and wouldn't talk to anyone. I helped him and his friends as much as I could throughout band camp.
He was pretty good looking. At least, he was to me. He had long brown hair. Most people called him a hippie, but I liked his hair. It was too bad I was dating someone at the time. I was dating Cody. I don't know why. He asked and I accepted.
Cody always threatened to commit suicide when things didn't go his way. I guess at the time, I felt bad for him. There's a reason we aren't together anymore though.
When it came to the band lock-in we have every year, I asked Dajin if he was going. I just wanted to start a conversation with him.
"Maybe" he said.
I walk home and meet up with my neighbor, Taylor. We start to walk around town. We were going to go rent a movie. Taylor had been my friend for a few years. We hung out all summer.
We were crossing the street when I saw Dajin in a car with his dad. I don't know why I did this, but I turned around and waved at him happily.
It was funny. I didn't think she would acknowledge me. There was something about her that was different than other girls. I knew I wanted to go to that lock-in just to hang out with her. I would definitely be there.
