"Mom, mom, mom!", Lexi screams running into my room and launching herself on my bed.
"You drank all the coffee! I couldn't turn on the machine! Get up, I get to spend the morning with Zayn today...hurry, hurry!", she screeches, jumping up and down on my bed.
"Okay, okay... I'm up... Let me get showered...", I mumble, staggering to the washroom.
It's been 6 months since Alexis and I met the boys, and they've become a very important part of our lives. Zayn and I are still together and he makes me and Alexis happy every single day. The other boys have all become like brothers to me and father figures to Lexi. They dote on her constantly, and I have to say, they spoil me too. They're all so wonderful, I really don't know what I'd do without them. They're letting Lexi and I stay in their guest house, behind the main house, and when they are away, which is alot, I keep an eye on the place for them. Although, I think they just tell me that so that I don't feel bad that they're letting me stay with them rent free. I turn the shower on and step into it's inviting warmth. Today is Saturday morning and I'm excited to get ready for my first day at my new job. The lads helped me get it, by giving me some personal recommendations. I couldn't be anymore thrilled.
Why? You ask...
I'll be working at the O2 arena, as a concert co-ordinator for upcoming shows and all around go-to-girl. I'm not due to start until 9 am, but when Lexi wakes me up at 6 am, there's no way I can get back to sleep. My first day on the job and I lucked into a 'One Direction' concert, happening this evening. "Mom! I'm going to the main house to see Zayn! See you there!", Lexi shouts. Lexi has had a birthday recently, and she turned 9. Now she's like 'Miss Independant'. She never calls me mommy anymore. It's mom 24/7 and quite frankly it's kind of sad. I really miss her 'little' days.
I shut my water off and brush my teeth. I blow dry my straight auburn hair and tie it back into a ponytail. Pull on my favourite faded blue jeans, black 'O2 Arena' staff v-neck t-shit and my black low cut converse. I sweep on a little liner and mascara, to make my green eyes pop and pray that I make it to the main house for coffee. Oh yeah, I still have my addiction to coffee, but now instead of having 1 'pusher', I have '6'.
The walk to the main house is only about 50 feet but when you're caffeine deprived at 6:30 am, which is basically in the middle of the friggin' night, it feels like you've just run an uphill 10 K marathon. I plop down on the outside patio step to have a rest.
Seriously, the caffeine is killing me.
The patio door slides open and I tip my head back to see Zayn standing behind me, a look of amused fascination on his handsome face. "What are you doing?", he asks, bending down and planting an upside down kiss on my lips.
"I need coffee...", I pant.
"It's 6:30 in the morning, why didn't you make coffee at your own house..."
"I did, I drank it all..."
"You drank all the coffee in your house before 6:30 in the morning?!"
"Big gulps, lots of sugar..."
"Alright get up...", he chuckles, looping his arms under mine and pulling me to my feet.
"... and a little splash of milk cuz it makes it cool...Yummy...", I giggle.
"I think you're high...", he teases, turning me around and planting another kiss on my lips. He wraps a hand around my wrist and pulls me inside, the rest of the boys are all in the kitchen.
"Hey neighbors! The people next door just ran out of crack to sell so they sent me over to borrow a cup...", I tease and they all chuckle. "Where's Lexi?", I ask, not seeing her anywhere.
"She's playing on the Wii in the game room love... She's already had some toast while you were in the shower...", Niall says.
"Are you guys sure you don't mind watching her this morning?"
"No, we'll be fine...", Louis says, reassuringly.
"Okay, well it's only until 1 pm and then 'Ava's mom' will pick her up. She has a sleepover there tonight...", I say, as Zayn pours me a large cup of steamy coffee. I add my milk and sugar and take a big gulp. "Oh my... Zayn, that's a really good coffee, what'd you do?"
"Yeah?", he answers, smiling at me.
"Um, hello!", I tease, taking another gulp.
"I added a little nutmeg..."
"That’s very 'Kurt Hummel' of you..."
"Well what can I say. Chicks dig a man who's in touch with his feminine side..."
"Oh yes, you are absolutely right... Why are you all up so early anyway?"
"We wanted to make sure we saw you off on your first morning...", Harry says, giving my shoulder a squeeze.
"Aww, that's so sweet you guys...", I say, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"And I am driving you...", Zayn adds.
"You don't have to drive me. I have a perfectly good vehicle in the garage that I can...", I start to say, but he just shoots me a glare. "I still say it's a perfectly good car...", I pout. "Can I drive your car? I've been dying to try it for months now..."
"It's a stick. You can't drive a stick..."
"Because yours is an automatic, and you've never driven a stick. You told me already..."
"I'm sure I can drive a stick. How hard can it be?!", I exclaim.
"You can stir coffee with a stick, but you can’t drive a stick...", Zayn argues, with a smirk.
"Okay, that deserves a 'dirty'!", I giggle.
The boys just look at me and laugh. I get up from my stool and grab 2 pop tarts out of the cupboard and put them in the toaster. Zayn and I still have this chemistry that's unexplainable. He drives me crazy and I drive him crazy, but I love him with all my heart. I'm just to scared to say it. What if he doesn't feel the same. He's tried a couple of times to take our relationship to that next level, but I keep telling him I'm just not ready yet.
"Healthy breakfast, pop tarts and coffee...", Liam chimes in. I giggle and shoot him a look that screams 'back off my coffee bitch', and he laughs and shakes his head. Settling across from him on a chair I start munching away happily on my pop tarts.
"You guys are scheduled for rehearsal at 3pm. That'll give you a good couple of hours before the show...", I mumble between bites of pop tarts and gulps of coffee. "I work until after the show so, I'll probably just catch a cab home or something...", I continue, rising and putting my empty cup in the sink.
"We'll wait for you and all come home together...", Zayn says, following me to the front door.
"Don't forget about Alexis guys... If she's quiet for too long, it usually means she's up to no good!", I call.
"No worries Faith. We're on it!", Liam and Louis shout as all 4 go running for the game room.
"Let's go love...", Zayn says, wrapping an arm around my waist and leading me out the door.
As we make our way through the streets of London on our way to the arena, an awkward silence fills the air. I know he wants to say something but he's holding it back. "Faith, we've been together for like 6 months now and they've been the best 6 months of my life. I want you to think about staying with me tonight. Lexi's not home and I really want to 'be' with you...", he says.
"Zayn, I-I haven't been with anyone since I got pregnant with Lexi. I-I just don't know if...", I stammer. He pulls the car up to the main arena doors and puts it in park.
"Faith, you know I'm not going to pressure you into it. I just want you to think about it. I love you..."
"I do...", he says, with a smile before grasping my face and pulling me towards him. He pushes his lips to mine and kisses me softly. I grasp his hands on either side of my face and hold on for dear life as he deepens the kiss. He runs his tongue along my bottom lip and I groan as he slides it in my mouth.
My face is flush, my knees are weak and I can't help but wonder how long I'll be able to hold him off.
Do I even want to?
Am I ready?
Physical relationships always change things. Don't they?
Will I remember how?
What if I suck?
All these questions and more flood my brain. What am I going to do...
I jump out of the car, and Zayn gives me a quick wave before pulling away. I glance around the parking lot. There are 2 other vehicles in the lot. Strange. No one else should be here this early. A black van and a old bus at the far end of the lot. I fumble around in my bag looking for my keys. I'll go inside and start checking some of the sound equipment. Might as well get an early start. "Damn, where is that key?", I say out loud to myself, my head down as I continue my search.
"Lose something?", a deep voice from behind me asks. I jump, startled by this unkown person's presence and his close proximity to my body. I take a involuntary step back and spin around when I step into another big guy.
This can't be good.
"No, I-I was just checking the doors to see if I could sneak in...", I say, thinking on my feet.
"Really? Is that why your wearing an 'O2 Arena' staff shirt?", the one guy snaps.
"I hate liars, especially pretty ones...", the guy behind me growls. They sandwich me in tightly between them.
"Oops, caught me...", I say, before elbowing the guy behind me, and kicking the other guy in his 'crown jewels'. I take off like a shot towards the bus at the far end of the lot. Footsteps are right behind me so I pick up my pace.
I so did not have enough coffee for this.
I manage to put some distance between me and the guy behind me, as I run. My hair whips around my face getting caught up in my mouth as I go. My heart is pounding in my ears. What the hell do these guys want? I run around to the bus doors and pull.
I bang on them loudly, screaming for someone...anyone to let me in. Frantically, I run around the side pounding on windows and shouting.
Hands wrap themselves around my waist and pull me back kicking and screaming towards the arena. By now, I'm terrified and completely hysterical.
"Do that again, and I'll cut those pretty legs off at the knees...", one guy growls.
"Where's your key?", the other snaps.
"In my bag... Take it... Just let me go!", I shout, flailing against the arms that hold me fast to my current position.
"No can do...pretty lady... You're gonna help us out today... I got her, go get the stuff...", one snaps as the other finally locates my key, unlocks the door and he pulls me inside.
This is not turning out to be a great first day...
