On Sunday I woke up because I heard the music from below. I put on my robe and went down the stairs. I hadn't heard the song before and I was curious. I heard Mom and Troy was in the kitchen with Louis. I went in and saw him standing next to his laptop. I looked at them all and wondered what happened. Louis saw me and smiled big.
"How do you like this artist?"
I didn't know what to say.
"I haven't heard him before, but that's okay?"
Louis laughed a little bit.
"Come on Hope? What do you think of the voice, etc.?"
I swallowed and saw my mom's happy eyes.
"Sure it's a good song?" she said cheerfully, nodding at me. "Or?"
I went over to the computer and looked at the laptop. I was surprised when I saw that it was Louis who had recorded the song. I couldn't believe my ears and I spun around and looked at him.
Louis laughed a little bit and nodded.
"It's not the best song that I've recorded, but it's okay."
Okay, now I was really surprised. I just stared at him and I didn't utter a word. Louis was amused and leaned toward me. He looked straight into my eyes.
"I finally got you to be quiet!"
"I'm not quiet, I listen and try to figure out if I like it!"
"You like it. I see it on your face and you think I have a good singing voice."
I had to agree, but I didn't show it to Louis.
I realized that he had many good sides. He was funny, though I didn't laugh at his jokes. He was out in the yard and kicked a bit with his ball. I saw that he had talent with the ball and I saw that he really loved everything he did.
"He's good!" Troy mumbled and stood beside me at the window.
"Well, I guess?"
He took his arm around my shoulder and smiled at me.
"Thank you to give him a chance Hope. It means everything to me."
I looked up at Troy and I saw that he was proud over me too. I felt that my heart was jumping and I smiled at him.
"But I'm still your daughter?"
"You will always be my daughter, even though Louis comes here sometimes."
In the evening began Louis to pick together his things. He would go back to London on Monday and actually I realized that he had been a good company. I stood in the door and leaned against the wall. I watched him closely and smiled a little bit.
"So are you going home?"
He looked at me and nodded.
"I have a job and little other stuff to take care of. Dad I leave in your hands."
I laughed a little bit.
"Thank you, I promise to take care of him."
Louis stood up and came over to me.
"I know and seriously. It's been really fun to meet you all."
I smiled and blushed slightly.
"Although I didn't show it, it was fun to get to know you too."
Louis lit up and gave me a hug.
I nodded and hugged him back.
I was surprised when he didn't let me go. Instead, he put his lips at my ear and smiled.
"And you can come to London and visit?"
"I promise nothing."
He released me.
"I don't like no for an answer!"
I laughed a little bit.
"I'm serious Louis, I have to clear out of school so that I can move away from home?"
He nodded and looked at my face closely. I was surprised when he leaned forward and kissed me on my cheek. It was a quick kiss but still a kiss.
"I like you, I mean it!"
