As Thora's jaws snapped around the human she felt only air between her teeth. The traitor had slid under the dragon's big mouth and was already slashing at her with a dragons bane sword. It was one of the only few swords that could kill a dragon forever, when used correctly. She let out a roar that was cut short when claws hand grabbed her body and thrown her backwards. She shrieked as Asher moved between her and the hunter, she didn't need his protection and could have taken the girl fine on her own. He advanced on the girl and grabbed her with his large, dragon paws and let out a deafening roar.
Ryia tried to struggle out of his grasp but it was no use as he tossed her like a discarded doll into the rock wall. She hit with a thud and slid down, crumpling to the floor. She was as foolish as Thora had suspected. A gash was on her forehead and she was bleeding steadily. Asher walked forward, his shape shrinking to his human form. He looked down at the girl and made a tsking sound before turning to Thora.
"Are you satisfied now, Princess?" He shouted sarcastically. She turned back into her human form too and started at him in rage and bewilderment.
"Happy? You think that I am happy? I could have taken her on my own and you took that from me!" She shouted, her neck and shoulders had slashes on them that started to hurt more and more as the adrenaline in her veins faded.
"Taken her on.. Did you see what she had slathered he sword in by chance?" He asked, his temper flaring. "It was dripping with enough poison to kill you had she delivered on more blow. She knew she was on a suicide mission." He told her. He was gone in almost a flash, but back again almost as quick. He had plants with him and wraps for the wounds.
"I-I didn't know I was just so mad and I didn't know.. Will I die?" She asked him. Her anger started to subside and worry replaced it. His eyes softened and he held her hand softly.
"No you won't die. This is a lesser poison so common herbs will work. We are leaving though, it's not safe here." He stated to her.
"Okay, I was planning on going anyways just let me get into my dragon form." She said going to stand up. He waved her down and his eyes were wide.
"No, no you're riding on my back. The poison mixed with the herbs will cause serious drowsiness and hallucinations, Thora." He said to her as he picked her up with out difficulty.
"I'm fine. And what about her?" Thora asked pointing a sharp claw at Ryia.
"One of her hunter friends will find her, they never go out without sending word of where to and for how long." Asher said as he turned into his dragon self. He walked out of the cave and nestled Thora on his back so she wouldn't fall if she happened to fall asleep. She tried to say something else to him but it ended up coming out as a mumble of words. He was right, she already was feeling woozy.
Thora didn't know how long they were flying but she wished it was over. Her body shook violently from hot and cold flashes and her vison was going in and out. That wasn't the worst part as she would swear she saw her sister flying in the clouds above and would scream as the dragon dipped down and dissipated just above her. Then it seemed like the world melted away and she was in a cell that was all too familiar. He hands and feet were bound and a table of deadly tools lay in the corner if she disobeyed. She was only freed when two rouge hunters had helped her escape. She would whimper and scream as she relived the horrid tortures of that place. She could hear her sister cackling in the back of her mind. She ended up passing out which she was relived about, at least she wasn't re-living a nightmare.
Asher landed about a day later, far, far from his old home. He made sure that he always had an escape plan had he needed to leave his caves. He picked Thora up and took her inside the old castle that was overgrown with plants and trees. He set her down gently once he got to one of the only rooms left in the castle. He set out blankets for her so she wouldn't freeze, then like a cat, he perched himself on the windowsill looking out for anyone that might try to attack them.
