3. This Once
After my 4th period class, its lunch. Which by the way I am NOT looking forward to. I hate the choosing of where to sit, because it does determine who your friends are for the rest of the year. My stomach is in knots when I step out of my 4th period class, I look around to see if Harry is around, which he isn’t. I didn’t really think he would go to lunch with me but I did hope. I’m halfway to the cafeteria when Harry catches up with me. “Aye babe.” I smile at him, glad that he turned up. We walk in silence for awhile, glancing at each other in turns. We finally get to the cafeteria which by the way is HUGE. There is a long line to get food so we just decide to sit down and wait until it shortens. We find a small empty table near the back of the cafetera, “You know i’m only going to sit with you today right?” He spits out, his mood suddenly changing. “Uhh, ok.” I whisper, finding it weird that i’m fighting tears. I stand up and walk over the slightly less longer line, “Hey! Alison!” I hear a girls voice from in front of me. I notice Kira standing near the front of the line, her long red hair pulled into a ponytail. She waves me over, I shuffle my feet so I can stand next to her in line. “How’s your first day been?” She asks all smiley. “Well its not over yet.” I reply not really caring if that was rude. “Haha, well you can come over to my house after school and then tell me about it.” She smiles and then faces forward. I laugh that was an abrupt invitation, “Uh, I don’t know where you live.” I point out, “And I don’t have your phone number.” She looks back at me and quickly says, “You can walk home with me after school.” Then she hands her plate to the lunch lady. I smile to myself then do the same. I walk back to the table where Harry is sitting, “So, you got invited over to the crazy Christians house on your first day here?” He cocks his head to look at me. “ I didn’t know she was a crazy Christian. But why would it matter?” I shove some pizza into my mouth so I won’t have to continue the conversation. “Its not a bad thing, all the guys want to be with her.” He smiles when I choke on my food. “What?” I ask. “Why?” He laughs, “Why? She’s hot. Well I don’t really think she is, I have a very different type.” My face blushes bright red, I know that he isn’t talking about me but they way he is looking at me makes me feel.. different.
