"Tell meeeeeeeee." I begged.
"Nooooo." Niall insisted.
He's so stubborn! Geez.
"C'mon Ni. Pweeeeeeeeeese?" I begged again, with puppy dog eyes.
"Ugh. Fine. But only because you're so cute." he said, giving in.
"Alright, spill it. Why is everyone so mean to Sydney and I?" I asked.
"Well... okay.... uhm... promise you won't tell." Niall said nervously.
"I promise, now spill."
"So... Harry and Sydney have a history. They were huge friends, best mates. But when they got to high school, Harry became super popular, and Sydney didn't, so Harry left her in the dust. He wanted to talk to her, but was afraid of loosing his reputation. And then he was told to bully her, to be cool. He didn't want to, but everyone pressured him. So he did. He wants to apologize, for everything. But he never could, or did." Niall said, quietly.
"But why didn't you ever stop any of them? They've beaten both of us down, day after day." I asked.
"Believe me, I tried. But they never listened. Harry's popularity has gone to his head, I guess." Niall said, shrugging the thought off.
"Well now what?"
"Now? They're going to the dance together..."
- Sydney's POV -
Tonight's the dance! Sydney's over at my house, and Harry and Niall are going to pick us up. The dance is formal attire, so the girls are wearing dresses and the boys are wearing tuxedos.
Wow. Harry, in a tuxedo.
Sydney was wearing a knee-length, lavender dress, with gold high heels, and silver hoop earrings. Her hair was straightened, and she had only a little makeup on. She looked amazing!
I had on a pink, sparkly dress, that went down just below my knees. I had my hair in a curled up-do, gold stud earrings, and my black high heels. I had on makeup too, and I think it turned out really well!
When we finished getting ready, the doorbell rang. It must be Niall and Harry!
But when I went down and opened the door, it was just Niall.
No Harry. Hmm. Maybe he was running late. Or something...
"Hey Niall! Come on in. I'll go get Sydney." I said.
Niall came inside, and I ran up to get Sydney.
"Sydney! Niall's here! Now COME ON!" I said, practically dragging her downstairs.
"Sydney! Let go! I CAN WALK YOU KNOW!" She said, stumbling and trying to keep up.
"W-wow Sydney, you look... beautiful..." Niall said, eyes wide.
"T-thanks.." Sydney said, blushing and smiling.
He took her hand, and they stared at eachother for what seemed like ages.
She really likes him.
If he breaks her heart, I'll break him.
"Hey Niall, where's Harry?" I finally asked.
"Oh! He said to tell you he's running late but he'll meet us there. He said to bring you along with Sydney and I." Niall answered.
"Oh, okay..." I said.
When we finally got to the dance I walked down to the cafeteria with Sydney and Niall. The cafeteria, where the dance is held, looked totally different! There were stars hanging from the ceiling, balloons, streamers, and lights being shown everywhere. It was beautiful!
I went and tried to find Harry, but I couldn't find him anywhere.
I guess he's not here yet.
I was talking with Sydney and Niall, but Sydney quickly brought something to my attention.
"Hey Ni...? You said Harry was running late, right?" Sydney asked, watching something behind me.
"Yeah...why?" he asked.
"Well I'm afraid to tell you your friend is a bit of a liar..." Sydney said.
I turned around to find Harry.
But not just Harry.
Harry and Kendall.
I can't believe him!
It's obvious they were together.
I could feel tears threatening to fall.
I can't believe this...
I headed to the bathroom, tears falling down my cheeks.
"Sydney! Sydney wait!" Sydney called after me.
I couldn't wait.
I had to get out of here.
Harry is such a jerk.
He asked Sydney and came with his so-called ex Kendall. He's such a liar, he just used Sydney.
I went to find Sydney, she needed me now more than ever.
She really liked Harry and he just used her.
"Sydney?" I called, walking into the bathroom, farthest from the school's cafeteria. Any bathroom remotely close to the cafeteria was packed.
I heard sniffling, and a small "yeah?" from inside.
"Sydney, I'm so sorry... Harry's just a jerk. You deserve so much better than him. You should go show him what he's missing." I said, trying to comfort her.
She agreed, we fixed her makeup, and walked back out.
- Sydney's POV -
I was finally starting to have fun again, but of course, Harry decided to walk over.
Sydney, being the great friend she is, started to sass him.
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! HURTING MY BEST FRIEND LIKE THAT? YOU'RE SUCH A J-!" she started, but Niall held her back, and put his hand over her mouth to make her shut up.
Now it was just mumbled words.
"What?" Harry asked, confused.
"You're obviously with Kendall, dude. You asked Sydney remember?" Niall chimed in.
"No, I was never with Kendall. I was waiting for Sydney and Kendall came up to me." Harry said, calm as ever.
"It sure doesn't look like it..." I said.
I'm about done with him.
"I swear to you. Kendall is trying to set me up to make you feel bad. I really want to be here with you, Sydney. I wouldn't want to be here with her, only you! You're the only girl I want to be with, and I've been dying to tell you that for... well, ever." Harry said, holding out his hand.
"So, want to dance, Sydney?" he asked.
I gladly accepted, and we danced for what seemed like forever.
Now, Harry and I and Niall and Sydney are in happy relationships, and now Louis, Liam, Niall, Zayn, Harry, Luke, Ashton, Calum, Michael, Sydney, and I are all really good friends. The boys have apologized a million times for bullying us.
I can't believe I'm saying this,
but there's just something about Styles I just can't get over.
