9. Chapter 9:
I held onto Jaxon's hand as we made our way to his territory. I kept on glancing his was, trying to make sense of his words. What did he mean by he is going to die? There was no way that could happen right? He just wasn't making enough sense.
"I know that you are confused and trying to figure out what I mean, but believe me once we reach the pack house you will know everything. I don't want to hide anything from you" Jaxon spoke up and I looked up at him startled. I hadn't known that he had seen me stealing glances at him.
"I'm sorry, you are right, I am just confused" I muttered quietly and let him pull me towards his pack territory. After a long time of walking, we finally reached his pack territory and smiled tentatively at him as we crossed Mates area. I was actually worried about his pack members seeing me with him.
I wasn't his official mate till now as I still had too many doubts which could only be cleared once I met the high council, but then again there was no way that Mate would let me go and have a meeting with them until he knew the reason. So, I guess I could ask Jaxon a way out?
"Here we are" Jaxon spoke up and I looked up at the surroundings of his pack territory. I smiled as I noticed the big huge 5 story house in front of me which must be the pack house. There was a huge garden in front of it and I could see many female wolves working around it and small kids playing.
"How many people are there in your pack?" I asked as he led me to the pack house. I smiled softly as I crossed the she wolves and small kids.
"Over 464 of them, I'm not really sure of the exact count but I think there are more pack members than in Mates pack" Jaxon spoke and I looked up at his shocked. Mate just had around 234 members and Jaxon almost had double Mates pack.
"Wow, that's amazing, you are the biggest pack around here" I muttered in amazement and Jaxon chuckled quietly and pulled me into the house. I looked around and I noticed the normal and homely feeling that the pack house provided. The interior was all in light colours and had huge glass French windows that gave a beautiful view into the forest behind.
"This is absolutely beautiful"
"Thanks, it's all my umami hard work. She loves to do all this stuff" Jaxon said smiling and I laughed along with him. Sometimes, I wished my mum was like that. Quickly pushing those thoughts away, I concentrated on Jaxon as he led me up he stairs.
Once we reached an office on the 5th floor, Jaxon motioned for me to go inside. I quickly pushed the door open and stepped into the room. It was just like any professional office, with wooden interiors and absolutely elegant and distinguishing.
"This is my dad's office. He is on his way" Jaxon said and I nodded and gulped slightly. I was really worried about meeting his father as it felt like Jaxon was formally introducing me.
All of a sudden the door was pushed wide open and I sensed a powerful presence in the room. Turning around I noticed an older and more defined version of Jaxon except the piercing and all, but he was just as handsome.
"Alpha" I spoke up bowing my head as he'd looked over at me.it was as if he was studying me, but I didn't ask why so I just stood there quietly, waiting for him to finish.
"You are Jaxon's mate?" He asked as he closed the door behind him, hesitating. I didn't really want to put up am official tag to my relashionship with Jaxon, but he was the Alpha and I had to say something.
With in seconds Jaxon was standing next to me, holding onto my hand.
"Don't speak to her dad. There are a few complications. It isn't her fault" Jaxon snapped and I looked at him shocked. Even though the Alpha was his father, he shouldn't have spoken to him that way.
"Calm down" I whispered and traced my thumb across his hand. He looked over at me and smiled softly.
"What do you mean by complications? If she is your mate then what is the issue? You know we don't have much time Jaxon, and you being irresponsible isn't helping me or my pack" the Alpha snapped angrily as he stood up from the desk and glared at me.
I jumped back slightly as the sudden movement by the Alpha, but held tightly onto Jaxon's hand.
"It isn't Jaxon's fault. I have another mate. I was rejected and later I met Jaxon and he stated that he was my mate. The problem is that sir I can't have two mates and on this matter I wish to meet the high council. There are other problems along with this one that I need to discuss with them" I spoke up confidently and Jaxon let go of my hand and wrapped his arms around my waist from behind me. I leaned back in his embrace, making no move to break away.
The Alpha looked at me for some time and then settled back down in the chair, looking away from us thoughtfully.
"I guess you still need to speak to her, don't you Jaxon? I don't think she is aware of the warning and there is no way that I want my pack to die because of your mate" the Alpha spoke quietly, but we could still hear the authority in his tone.
"I was going to speak to her once you were done talking. This is why Natalie is here" Jaxon said and turned his back to his father and pulled me out of the office before he could say anything else.
I followed Jaxon quietly as he led me downstairs to the 3rd floor and stopped in front of a door. Jaxon pushed the door open and I instantly knew that this was his room. His scent was covered in every corner of the room and I took a deep breath and sighed as my body started to calm down.
I entered the room and made myself comfortable on the bed and faced Jaxon.
"Can we speak now?" I asked quietly and Jaxon sighed and quickly seated himself next to me on the bed.
"I want to know something" Jaxon said and I looked at him curiously. I nodded and motioned for him to continue.
"Who is your other mate?"
I bit my lip and looked down at the mattress, waiting to catch my nerves. I didn't want to hurt him but I didn't know how to tell him.
"Nat?" Jaxon called out quietly and I looked up into his eyes.
"Mate" I whispered and heard Jaxon's sharp intake of breath. I closed my eyes wait for him to shout or do something but he just sat there quietly.
I stole a quick glance at him and noticed that he was sitting in a stiff posture, not looking at me.
"Ok" Jaxon muttered and then stood up, taking a deep breath.
"Ok, that's all?" I asked and he turned around and looked at me softly. Leaning towards me he traced me cheek and pressed a soft kiss to my head.
"Yes, ok. You haven't asked for any of this. So it isn't your fault" Jaxon said sweetly and I looked at him with an unbelievable look.
How could he be so calm about this? If instead of him it was Mate he would be flipping out.
I smiled up at him and wrapped my arm around his neck and pulled him closer for a kiss. I moaned as our lips touched and electricity passed between our bodies. Standing up, I moulded my body to his and wrapped my legs around his waist.
He held me tightly and supported my back.
I nibbled on his bottom lip and felt him harden near my stomach and slowly started to grind my body to him. He pushed me down on the bed and slowly trailed kissing from my lips to my neck and then back again.
I moaned as his hands made their way under my top and he trailed a pathway along my stomach. I pushed him away slightly and instantly he raised his body, breathing deeply.
"Can I know now?" I asked shyly biting my lips and Jaxon burst out laughing and nodded.
"Get her to me" The snake like man standing across the room hissing. His lower half of the body flowed as if water, no legs visible and his face and upper part concealed his darkness.
"We are working on it" the witch spoke as she added blood to the portion that she was brewing. She turned to look at him shyly and quickly raised herself, shedding her cloths and made her way towards the dark figure.
"We will have her soon love and them The Alpha and his soon will die, along with his entire pack" the witch laughed in a cold voice and the snake like man, dug his clawed hand into her arm, earning a cry from the witch.
"Are the others informed?" He hissed as he bent down and licked the blood of her arm and bit into the soft flesh.
"Yes, everyone is prepared."
