Megan had left early for her first lecture, she was way more organised than Emily... (Apart from she had to come back 10 minutes after she walked out the door because she forgot her folder, much to the amusement of both Cathal and Emily.)
Cathal went out into town for the day to see if there were any small jobs or errands he could do to earn a little extra money for the upkeep of their home, leaving just Emily and Steven looking blankly at eachother.
She didn't really know what she wanted to do, she sat down at the breakfast bar and cradled a cup of tea in her hands while Steven played with the laces on her shoes, somehow managing to wedge both him and the shoes behind the sofa.
Lucas phoned her half an hour later when Emily had finished getting dressed and tidying up the trail of destruction Steven left wherever he went.
"Hi" he spoke softly and Emily felt herself blush a little.
"H-Hi.." Emily's voice was wavering as she spoke.
After 10 minutes on the phone they organised to meet up, he would be round there at 12:30. Emily squealed with excitement, she picked the confused Steven up off the floor and kissed his nose, twirling around with him perched in her arms. He put his little white paw over her mouth when she tried to kiss him for the second time.
12:30 came around and there was a knock on the door, Emily skidded round the corner and rushed towards it, her odd socks slipping on the smooth floor. She only just managed to stop herself slamming into it before she opened it. She had to calm herself. Slowly she turned the handle and looked up to see Lucas stood there.
"Hey" He smiled. Emily tried with all her might to supress the blush that was trying to radiate from her cheeks.
"Hi L-Lucas" She said shyly, looking at the floor and noticing her socks clashed.
Lucas followed her gaze and grinned, "Life is too short to waste time matching socks" Emily smiled and adjusted her glasses which were just beginning to slip off her nose.
"I'm gonna be really cliché and ask, do you wanna watch a movie?"
Lucas chuckled, "As long as you have Samurai Cop"
"Wait here" Emily skipped off down the hall to her room and rummaged through the pile of DVDs and pulled out a well-loved case. She walked back and casually leaned on the doorframe "It's funny you should say that, its one of my favourite movies"
