"Scarlett, it's time for you to get up. You have work in 2 hours." I hear a boyish voice whisper in my ear.
I roll over slightly to resituate myself when I collide with the hard ground. "What the fuck! Where the hell am I?" I yell as I rub my eyes.
When my vision clears, I look up to find an unfamiliar apartment. "You fell asleep in my taxi last night, and you looked scared... so I brought you to my apartment." Jack answered simply behind me.
I turned around to see Jack with his hair still slightly damp, probably from his morning shower. "Thanks." I mumbled as I threw the thin blankets off of my waist. When I stood up, I realized that I had been sleeping on Jacks couch.
"Do you want to talk about last night?" Jack offered as he walked into the kitchen, and I followed.
I sat down in the red dining chair and sighed deeply as I slouched low. "I don't know." I said wearily. Jack has always said I needed a man for myself, but I always refused and came up with some reasons why I shouldn't, but now I don't really have one.
"Well, I will make the decision for you. We are going to talk about it." He said as he brought to mugs of coffee down on the table. "So let's start with the beginning, shall we?" He said as he handed me one.
"Well... I was dancing and a guy comes up to me and starts to dance with me and when I was narrowing down his matches I realized I was his... and I ran." I said as I sipped on the coffee.
"You what?" Jack said with his eyes bulging from shock.
"I-" I stated before I was interrupted by Jacks harsh voice.
"No, I didn't as for you to repeat it. I was just confused as to why you would run. I thought you were scared because he did something to you, but now I see that you were just being ridiculous." Jack stated as he straightened in his chair.
"I was not being ridiculous." I defended as I put the mug back down on the table.
"Really... so was he hot?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Well ,yeah.." I said as I stared at Jacks mischievous grin.
"Now, was he built... maybe even tall?" He added, drawing out his words.
"Yeah, but..." I said but couldn't seem to finish my sentence.
"Did you tolerate, or maybe even like dancing with him?" He said with a full on smirk plastered on his face.
"Maybe..." I trailed off. I really didn't like where this was going, at all.
"Then why would you run?" Jack questioned.
"I-I-I don't know." I said as I dipped my finger in the coffee and mixed it.
"Well I know why." Jack said as he crossed his arms.
"And why is that?" I asked curiously, sure I wouldn't like the answer.
"It's because you are scared to love." Jack said with a triumphant smile.
"That is not why-" I said before rudely interrupted.
"Oh really, because to me it seems like you liked him. Dare I say a lot." He said as he placed a hand over his heart.
"You shall not dare." I said with a pout placed on my lips.
"Oh come on Scarlett, tell me the truth. You sound so hypocritical with you setting up all these matches and you not even taking yours. Crazy if you ask me. So tell me, did you like him? Maybe even attracted to him?"
"Fine." I said exasperated as I slouched back down in the chair with my mug at hand.
"I knew it!" Jack said as he brought his mug to the sink to rinse out.
"So what? It's not like I am ever going to see him again, so why does it matter?" I said as I brought my empty glass toward the sink also.
"Ah, that's not the problem. Last night, apparently your mystery man had followed me to make sure you made it in ok and weren't hurt and gave me his number to give to you so you can call him. And might I say he had real nice body." He said as he shook his head at the last part.
"He did what?" I yelled. How could he? I couldn't see him again.
"Anyways I called your work today and told them you were sick." He said simply.
"Why did you do that?" I asked totally lost.
"Oh did I not mention that? You have a date with William, that's his name, at 1."
