Juliet let out a horrifying scream as the floor caved in beneath them. Romeo tried desperately to hold onto Juliet’s hand but he couldn’t. Her hand slipped away from his hand. Juliet was caught under the rubble and she was finding it hard to breath. Romeo on the other hand was making his way out of the wreckage. As he did he looked around in search of Juliet but there was no sight of her. Romeo looked around and noticed that the whole left side of the castle had collapsed. He shook the dirt of himself then he coughed.
Romeo started calling out for Juliet but he didn’t hear a reply. He decided not to move and started calling her again. After a few minutes he could hear her faint voice calling back at him. He started moving towards her voice, stopping ever so often to make sure he hadn’t missed her. After awhile he was picking up rocks and then he reached her. He picked her up and took her to the other side of the castle to her father.
‘What are you doing here? What have you done to her?’ King Victor demanded as he was trying to take Juliet off Romeo.
‘The whole of the left side of the castle has collapsed and she was caught under the rubble. And I saved her’ Romeo replied, not letting go of Juliet.
‘Take her in here’ he said.
Romeo followed King Victor into the room and he put Juliet down on the lounge. King Victor left and then Prince Christopher came in.
‘What in heavens name are you doing here? And leave my Juliet alone’ Prince Christopher demanded harshly as he approached Romeo.
‘She isn’t your Juliet she’s mine. And if you were with her then you would have saved her. But you weren’t so you didn’t save her. I did’ Romeo nearly shouted.
Romeo stood there protecting Juliet. Prince Christopher approached Romeo as he grabbed his shirt and slammed him hard into the wall.
‘She’s mine and I suggest that you leave her alone’ Prince Christopher said harshly.
Prince Christopher let go of Romeo’s shirt and Romeo fell to the ground. Prince Christopher then kicked Romeo hard in the gut. Romeo gasped at the blow of the kick as he tried not to try. Prince Christopher walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
‘Romeo? Romeo?’ Juliet’s weak voice asked.
‘I’m here’ Romeo replied, going to Juliet’s side.
Juliet gave him a weak smile and he smiled back at her. Romeo jumped at the sound of the door being opened loudly.
‘Take him away’ ordered King Victor to his guards.
‘What have I done wrong?’ asked Romeo.
‘You put my daughter’s life in danger’ he replied.
‘I saved your daughter’s life’ Romeo corrected him.
‘Romeo don’t leave me please’ Juliet said to Romeo in a weak voice.
‘I’ll be back I promise’ Romeo said.
Romeo didn’t want to leave Juliet’s side but he knew that if he didn’t then he would be in more trouble. He kissed Juliet on the lips softly and he let the guards take him away. Just before they closed the door Romeo could hear Juliet’s sweet, weak voice saying no.
