7. Chapter Seven
Romeo looked down at his feet as he entered the jail cell. Tomorrow would be the day that Juliet would be married to that horrible Prince Christopher. Romeo had to prove that Prince Christopher was up to something. But how was he going to do that? He wondered to himself.
Back in the ward Juliet couldn’t sleep. But he didn’t want to sleep either. She just kept thinking that Romeo wasn’t guilty and that Prince Christopher was just using her. She was too weak and she could hardly talk. He father wouldn’t believe her if she even tried and told him. She had to free Romeo. But how was she going to do that? Juliet got to her feet and slowly made her way to the door. It was hard for her to walk. The door was locked. Now what was she going to do? She looked around for some other way to get out but there wasn’t.
Someone was trying to unlock the door. She quickly made her way back to her bed and pretended to be asleep. When the person was close enough to the bed they slapped her across the face. Juliet fell off the bed and landed onto the ground. She was picked up and was once again thrown onto the cold, hard floor. She didn’t have enough time to gather what had just happened to her before she was grabbed by at the back of the shirt and flung up. The next thing she knew of she was being slammed into the wall. Blood was coming out of her nose and the cut on her lip.
Juliet was swung around and slapped in the face. Her vision was all blurry and she couldn’t see who was attacking her. Her eyes began to fill up with tears. She was being shacked so hard that she was scared that her neck would brake in two. The attacker finally stopped shaking her and brought her close to his face.
‘If there are any screw up tomorrows or else. Got it?’ Prince Christopher asked her.
‘Or else what’ asked a sobbing Juliet.
‘Or else Romeo dies’ he said.
He slapped her once more and he stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. Juliet collapsed onto the floor, her legs finally giving up on her. Tears were rolling down her face as her eyes began to go red and become very sore. Juliet got up slowly; the taste of blood was in her mouth. She went to the door to see if it was locked. Prince Christopher forgot to lock the door.
She slowly opened it and snuck out. Her plan was to make her way down to the dungeon and rescue Romeo. When she got to the descending staircase to the dungeon it was a narrow staircase all the way down. Juliet descended the staircase, not wishing or wanting to slip.
