27. Hell To Pay

When Dean and I get into the Impala, he started the engine and then drove away. That was when he popped the question that has been bugging him.

"What was your nightmare, Diamond," I shook my head and looked out the window, I wasn't ready to talk about it. I leaned my head against the window and fell asleep and had another nightmare, the same nightmare just more to it. My bare feet pounded the Forrest floor, hell hounds to the left and right. My heart pounded against my chest. All I could think of was Dean, Sam and Kris. I reached a clearing thinking I was safe, but I wasn't. The hellhounds closed in, thirty in all. I screamed, but no sound came out. That was when I heard Dean screaming my name, and I prayed that he wouldn't find me. When the hellhounds charged at me and started to tear me limb from limb, I had enough mental strength not to scream. I cried, not because of the pain, but because of what my death would do to Dean. Poor Dean, poor Kris, I never said goodbye to her.

I woke up with a start and Dean handing me a newspaper and a mocha.

"Thank you Babe," I said before taking a sip, then closing my eyes.

"You had the same nightmare," he stated and I nodded. Then I found something interesting.

"Dean, listen to this. Farmer's wife watched her husband get chewed and tore apart from nothing. Quote. 'I heard him screaming, so I got up and rushed outside and there he was getting pulled apart from all sides, but I didn't see what was doing it. That was what scared me, then it looked like something pinned him down and tore his heart out. I ran in and locked the door, and ran to the basement and locked that' sounds like a case huh," he nodds and then that night, I stepped out of the hotel, and I took my nightly run. That was when I heard the paw sounds. I started to run faster my bare feet pounded the Forrest floor, hell hounds to the left and right. My heart pounded against my chest. All I could think of was Dean, Sam and Kris. I realized that I won't be able to see Kris and Sam's wedding.
