"Mum, you ok?" he asked as he helped me to my feet.
"Yeah" I assured him as I was getting a bag of blood out of the backpack.
"Are you a vampire Mum?" he asked.
"Yeah, my husband in this life changed me so I wouldn't die. Your Father stabbed me in the chest, trying to kill me. In a way it worked, but now I am even stronger than before. Oh Son, you how you shift to the wolf," he nodded, I grinned. "I can shift into a dragon," I said, not helping to brag. His jaw dropped, as I bit into the bag to drink or eat the blood. When I was done I bit the empty bag back in the backpack.
"Our way?" Brianna finally asked.
"Yeah, you are leaving with me as my sister I will not leave you here for Harold to use you against me, and also I'm going to need your help," I explained and she nodded in response.
"I'm sorry for the way Father has treated you. It is not right, fair, or gentlemanly. When he leaves, I will come to help you, and don't worry no matter where you are, I'll find you," he said. Then he walked away and we left. I realized I wouldn't be able to go on and on for miles like before with Brianna. For the next day and noon she was crying for sleep. So we stopped my extreme distaste, she seemed honestly surprised that I didn't pack any camping gear.
"Girly, let me guess. You didn't sleep at all on the way to the Kingdom," I shook my head. "Girly, I'm not a vampire, I am the most rarest shifter there is," that was when I looked at her.
"What form is that, Bri," I asked. I was skeptical, I'd admit, I thought Dragons were rare.
"I turn into the Great Sabre Tooth Tiger," I shrugged, for James had turned into such a tiger. I wasn't impressed, I shifted to a wolf and walked in a circle and laid down; to sleep. "I'm guessing your not impressed," but I was to far gone into the domain of sleep to understand. That is the first time since being turned I felt normal. I took a deep breath and dreamt of my mate, he was in wolf form, in the woods, sniffing the ground That was when I woke up to a branch snapping.
I slowly got up and sniffed the breeze. I'll be damned, I walked our camp which was a perfect circle of trees in the woods. That was when I saw him, and when he saw me, he jumped. I jumped at him and we rolled around in the leaves, nipping, growling, biting, barking, and it woke Bri up.
"What the fuck!" as I backed up and launched myself at him. He saw what I was going to do and he turned human and caught me. I did the same and punched him. I was naked and so was he. I went to kick him but he caught my leg and kissed it.
"You bastard!" he chuckled and took me to the ground. I smacked him in the chest, he sucked in a breath. Then he kissed me, I forgot that Brianna was watching, or that I was fighting him, or that he wasn't supposed to be here. When I relaxed he deepened the kiss, I moaned and he swallowed the sound, he rolled us over and he was on top. His hood in between my legs, but not inside. Though I wanted him to be, I wrapped my legs around his waist. Then wrapped my arms around his neck, and pulled him closer.
"Um, guys, I don't want to see you two do each other silly," I pulled away and looked at my sister. That was when her tone got through my lust. I pushed him away and got up, turned to him and he took a step back.
"What are you doing here James?" I asked him. He looked down, he swallowed, I should have known that he wasn't going to let me go.
He looked up at me. I saw determination in his gaze and I know, no matter what I do he will follow, he would be unshakeable. I don't want him to see me die, me and his unborn daughter, I won't let him, but I don't want to hurt him; if I lie to him and leave him, he will kill himself. I don't know what to do I want a happy ever after, but such things don't exist for Monsters; which is what I am.
"I have lived for a century, and I have felt the most alive, the last year then I have ever. I am not going to let you go, I got you now, I won't let you go, no matter what you do, I will keep following you," I could see and hear the truth in his words and eyes. Also I don't want my vision to come true, of Harold bleeding him dry. I am going to have to Harold before that happens. He must have saw that I have given up trying to shake him. He picked me up and held me, that was when Brianna cleared her throat. I looked at her and him; well if we are going to ravel together, they might as well know each other.
"Brianna, this is my husband, James Slater," I announced.
