I heard Louis yell. What had Autumn done to him? Then, she ran out in tears. Louis walked out slowly once she had left the house.
"What was that all about?" Zayn asked.
"She's a little liar. That's all. She just wanted money."
"Really, because she seemed devastated?" I chipped in.
"Really," Louis replied.
"What did she say to try to get money?" I asked.
"Nothing. It doesn't matter."
"Maybe it does," I muttered, and got up to leave. I didn't look back.
As I drove into the city towards my apartment, I found her. Autumn was curled up on a bench in tears. I saw a bag at her feet. What had happened to this girl?
Parking my car, I approached her, and looked at her. She looked exhausted, depressed, and all in all a mess.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"No! Not you! Fuck off!" she wailed, and broke into another wave of sobs.
"I just want to help," I replied.
"I don' want your fucking help. The only one who can help me is Louis, and he won't, so I may as well just fucking die right now!"
"Why? What happened? I know you don't want anyone but Louis to help, but you can't have that, but maybe I can help convince him that you aren't lying about whatever he thinks you lied about."
"Okay," she muttered, and I helped her up.
"Let's get you cleaned up, and then you can tell me what happened," she just nodded.
At my apartment, she changed into a new pair of jeans and a t-shirt, and then sat down on the couch.
"Do you want to talk about it?" The she agreed, and spilled her guts to me. She wasn't lying: Louis had gotten her pregnant. She even showed me the pregnancy test to prove it. Her mother had found out and kicked her out. She spent a week searching for Louis, only to be rejected. And now there was nobody there for her at all.
"Do you need somewhere to stay?" I asked. She obviously did. So she would stay here.
"I guess I'll take the couch," she said.
"No, you take my bed. I'll take the couch," I argued.
"It's your house! I don't want to cause any trouble."
"You're right- it's my house. And in my house, I'm going to sleep on the couch."
"Thank you," she said, and I walked in to hug her.
"Come on, let's get you settled in," I said, and took her small bag into my room.
