5. Mystery

There was a long silence and Conner looked really guilty. I finally stopped crying but, now that I stopped… I can't stop staring at him. The way he bites his lip when he's thinking, the way a smile appear on his face that makes me wonder what he's thinking about, or even the way he runs his hand through his hair.

He had a smile on his face but, it soon disappeared when we pulled up at Brady's place. "Woah" Conner managed to say. "What happened here?" He asked. The window was broken to pieces is all I could tell so far. I knocked on the door but, no one answered. So, I just walked in; there was a lamp on the ground, and a huge mess in the living room. "How drunk does this guy get?" I heard Conner mutter.

I chuckled. "No, I think something happened… Brady doesn't get this drunk," I stated. "My dad and Brady somehow just disappeared."

                                           Richard's POV. (Lalvia's dad)

"Where's Brady, how did you get out of jail and is my daughter alright?" I asked all in one breath. We were now in his car going to God knows where.

"Brady is somewhere… safe," He smirked. "How I got out of jail, is none of your business and your daughter? Yea, I don't want her. I don't need her for anything," His face softened. "I'm not going to hurt your daughter, sir," He reassured. His face had so much love and genuine when he said that. I sighed a breath of relief. "But, your daughter is in trouble," He said. He didn't say anything else as he continued driving.

I was to afraid to ask any further. Something about his facial expressions when I mention her name or say 'my daughter,' I can tell he still loves her.

                                       Lalvia's POV.

We have been searching this whole time but, still no sign of dad. "What about you go to sleep or at least take a short nap," He stated. "It's…" He stared down at his watch. "12:15."

            "Where's my dad?"

He was looking up biting this lip in a thoughtful expression. "I'll look for him."
