Conner fluttered his eyes open. "I love you,' he muttered.
"You too," I smiled.
"Wow, we went through a lot. Didn't we?" He asked smiling.
"Lalvia, You are beautiful, smart, and theres no one else in this world I would rather be with. Will you-" He got cut off by a loud scream, a big bang noise, and what it sounded like was glass. 'Huntley!'
We got out of bed and ran towards the noise.
Once we got to the living room, my breath became uneven. Huntley was laying down on the floor with blood surging through his stomach. Tears fell from my cheeks as I tried to compose myself. I fell on my knees beside him.
"Conner, we need to call the ambulance. Now!" I exclaimed without taking my eyes off of Huntley. Huntley muttered something that sounded a whole lot like 'he's not dead'.
"Wh-what, Huntley? Whose not dead?"
Huntley turned his head a little to the right. I glanced at what he was looking at. It was only the window but, the only difference was that there was a hole in the middle of the window like a bullet went through it.
I glanced behind me to see Conner with his cell phone pressed to his ear. He hung up and smiled at me. It wasn't a genuine smile. It was more of a small nervous smile. "They're on there way." He walked over to Huntley, "Just stay in there."
Huntley kept eye contact with Conner. I tried to read Huntley's expression. He looks scared, well, of course he's scared but, he also, looks brave like he knew it was going to happen eventually. He never, not even once broke eye contact with Conner.
The second Keenly walked in he ran to me. "My d-dad is still alive!" He said trying to catch his breath. "He won't give up and he will kill all of us, just to get to you, Lalvia."
I looked over at Conner, the love of my life. What if he gets killed? I can't let that happen. I can't let him die. I looked over at Huntley. That poor kid did nothing wrong and he is in pain. I looked up at Keenly. I can't let him die, either. I just met him and he already seems like a good friend to me.
I started to run toward the door but, Keenly grabbed my arm. "What are you doing?!"
"I can't have you guys trying to sacrifice your lives for mine! I can't lose you guys!"
"Lalvia, I don't want to lose you!" Conner said. He looked up and caught my eye. His eyes were watering and my heart sunk to my stomach.
"Conner, your the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can't lose you. I'm willing to sacrifice my life for you. If Daniel wants me dead so be it."
I ran out the door with footsteps behind me. "It was about time, Lalvia," said Daniel with a smirk. He held is gun up and pointed at me. I closed my eyes waiting for the blow but, it never came. Even, though I heard the gun going off I know I haven't been shot. I opened my eyes. What I saw was my boyfriend holding his side as he fell to the ground.
"Conner, what did you do?!" I ran over to him and pulled his head into my lap and stared into his eyes. I looked over at Daniel and let the tears pour from my eyes. "What did you do?!"
Daniel smirked. "Well, if he haven't of gotten in front of you, this would never happen."
I looked up to only see my dad with his hands tied behind his back and guards walking up behind him. I tore my eyes away from him and focused on Conner. Conner pulled something out from his pocket and placed it in my hand weakly. "Will you marry me?" He muttered. "If I make it?"
