Keeping My Distance

Lalvia Monroe is a girl that has been badly bullied by some people at school, she self-harms and cry's her self to sleep every night. She has also, been getting weird dreams and visions by her grandmother that has passed away five years ago. She has been getting warnings by her grandmother that she needs to leave but, when a new man enters her life… she's not so sure she wants to leave.

11. Gone

Walter collapsed on the ground and glared over at conner. "Was that really necessary?"

Conner shrugged. "I don't want you getting anywhere near Lalve," he stated.

Walter ignored Conner and glanced over at me. "Lalvia, there was something I was always meaning to tell you." I stayed still so he could continue. He bit his lip, wincing in pain. He glanced down at his leg, biting his lip. "That night I went to jail--I didn't just kill that guy to kill him. He was coming after you, he was going to kill you," he cried.

I took a deep breath, taking it all in.

"And unfortunately, he's not the only one," he stated. "Your in trouble," he choked. He winced in pain once again.

I ran up to him to check his leg. I collapsed on the ground beside him and investigated his leg. "Call the ambulance," I whispered. "Call the ambulance!" I screamed.

Conner took out his phone calling the ambulance.

I looked down, catching Walters eye. We stayed in this position, still staring into each others eyes. "I still love you, Lalvia."

"I know." His eyes flashed with sadness. I checked his wound to see his leg covered with blood. "Your losing to much blood."

"Lalvia, the ambulance is on they're way," Conner stated.

      I nodded, muttering a 'thanks'.

"You'll be fine, Walter," I whispered. "You'll be fine," I chocked.

Conner walked over to me and sat down. "I don't understand, Lalve. He kidnapped your dad, he went to prison for murder and tried to kill me. Why are you trying to help him?" He asked, whispering so only I can hear.

I stared back at Conner, not saying a word.

He finally seemed to understand and he looked down shaking his head. "No, no." he whispered. "You can't. He's a monster."

I bit my lip staring down.

"The ambulance is here," stated my dad. "Conner, can you untie me?"

"Oh, yea, of course, sir." Conner stood up.

"Hey, are you alright?" I asked, sweeping the hair out of Walter's face.

He grabbed my hand giving it a tight squeeze. "I'm n-not going to make it Lalve." He closed his eyes.

Tears flowed down my cheek one by one. "I love you Walter," I chocked. "I always did." I gave him a peck on the lips and moved aside for the ambulance to take over. "Please save him," I muttered to the ambulance.

"Your still in love with that monster?"

    "Shut up Conner!"

"A real man would not try to scare his girlfriend and kill someone ending up in prison. A real man will not kidnap her dad," Conner stated, biting his lip. We were currently outside of the hospital since I needed some fresh air.

"N-no. A real man tried to protect me. That real man did everything for me Conner, and I just didn't see it," I chocked. I glanced at him as I started crying.

    "I'm sorry, Lalve."

He came over wrapping his arms around me. I stood shocked for a second and finally hugged him back. He let me cry in his chest and held me until I couldn't be held anymore.
