As we walked out the door of our apartment building, the bright sun beamed down on us. Cyra squinted dramatically, pretending that she couldn't see. I burst out in hysterics and grabbed her by the arm, pulling her the other way. We turned down our road and headed to the shopping centre.
"Hey Ems, remember the first day we met? At that small park by your Mum's house? And Harry was there?" Cyra called to me from the other side of the path. I jumped down from the plank of wood I was walking along and ran back to her, almost pushing her into the small lake. She laughed and playfully pushed me back. I knew this was going to be another crazy day.
"Yeah of course I remember, how could I forget?" I smiled, tugging at her bright red hair. She stuck her tongue out at me, the same thing she did all those years ago when we met at the park.I pulled a weird face and we both giggled.
"People must think we're about 5, not 26!" Cyra laughed. I agreed, as we walked up the stairs and through the big double doors into the shopping centre. It wasn't that busy today, which was good. It gave us a better chance to make a fool of ourselves.
"Fancy going to Nando's?" I asked Cyra. She looked at me with an enormous grin, obviously meaning yes. It was our favourite place to go. As we sat down, Cyra didn't even glance at the menu, already certain of what she wanted. She always did. Chicken butterfly with lemon and herb, along with chips and corn on the cob. Since chicken was all Cyra ate, Nando's was her heaven. After deciding on a chicken burger with chips and salad, I walked up to the counter to order. I told the cashier what we wanted, along with two glasses of Sprite. I gave her the money and walked back to our table. We were halfway through our conversation when the radio playing through the speakers caught my attention.
"Are you the biggest fan of the famous cheek chappy, Mr Olly Murs?" they announced. I spat my Sprite all over the table in excitement. Cyra shrieked with laughter and everyone turned round and gave us weird looks.
"Well listen up! Here at Radio 1 we're giving away the chance for you and a friend to spend the day with Olly himself! That's right, a whole day! All you have to do is email us here at Radio 1 and say why you love this Essex cheeky chappy, and Olly will come down to the studio himself and pick the winner! Good luck!" The radio switched back to playing songs and I sat there, my mouth wide open.
