Amera ended up falling asleep in the chair. She was awoken by many shouts and screams.
She looked up and saw a mob of people running at her with pitchforks and torches.
Not again, she thought. She got up immediately and started running.
She ran and ran and her feet pounded against the ground
The mob chased her far. They were really determined to get to her this time.
But then Amera stopped short. She had arrived in the village of Love.
She entered calmly. I mean, she knew that they wouldn't allow the violence of the mob.
She walked into the bakery, and stood in line for a fresh loaf of bread. She was welcomed and greeted with kindness. And of course the kindness was returned as it was offered.
She caught sight of a young child stuffing cookies and bread into his bag and pockets. She knew the boy would get seriously in trouble for stealing in Love. She stepped out of line and walked over to the boy.
"Hello," she said kindly.
The boy was smug and rude. Though he was quiet and shy at the same time.
"What is it?" he muttered.
"Oh nothing," she said, hands behind her back. " I just figured you would like some money to pay for that stuff instead of stealing. I mean, you could get in serious trouble, you know."
The boy stopped short. "What do you want from me?!" he asked harshly.
"Nothing. Just for you to stop stealing. It isn't right."
"Yeah well I don't really have money flying around me at the moment," he said.
Amera slipped him some bits. "Let me know when you need more. I think I might stay here for a while."
The boy looked like he had just seen a ghost. "Wait, stay?! You're new?!"
"Yes why?" Amera asked confused.
"You can't stay here. Thank you for the money. I'm grateful. But for your own protection you have to leave."
"Why?" Amera didn't understand.
"Because the current governors aren't who you think they are. They are violent. Now leave before you get hurt."
Yeah, because that would be different, Amera thought to herself.
"Leave!" he said in a hushed voice.
"Wait! What's your name boy?" Amera asked.
"Badden the 6th. Why? What's yours?" the boy answered.
Amera stood in shock. Badden?! "Uh, Amera Klilee." she answered.
The boy was shocked. "The wanted one?! You are in even more danger! You need to leave now!"
Amera said goodbye and they boy thanked her again for the money.
And then she ran. Harder than ever before.
